JJ BISTRO — Restaurant in Wheaton

We ordered 12 rolls, Pad Thai and some appetizers. Prices are higher compared to other, local sushi houses: at least $2.00 per roll. But, the food is certainly no better and the customer service here is wanting.

My order wasn't ready until at least 30 minutes after the restaurant's established pick- up time. No apologies. I was told they were busy. In the 30 minutes I was in the parking lot, only two people arrived to pick- up an order. My order was also incomplete.

The food itself was un-remarkable. The sauce on the Pad Thai was good, but the noodles were mushy and the tofu bland. House salad was mostly a pile of spiralized carrots--with precious little lettuce, tomato, or cucumbers-- though the ginger dressing was good. The Crispy Pad Thai Rolls may have been the highlight of the night.

There are better sushi houses nearby, with better food, better prices, and better...

My husband and I were debating for a while where to get Sushi take-out, we've had sushi from a few places in the area and it was always just OK. This was our first time trying JJ Bistro and we are OBSESSED now! We ordered Godzilla, Angel Wings, and the Red Dragon and when my husband went to pick it up (with a mask!), he realized they gave us free eggs rolls with a smiley face on the box, so sweet! Everything tasted so fresh, all the rolls had amazing flavors with hints of the spice but not over-powering. We just loved this place! Hoping we can eat inside this restaurant when the quarantine is lifted! You have a forever...

We’ve ordered from here a couple of times and there’s usually one thing we might like but overall there’s always something off. A couple of times the sushi I ordered has tasted off. Almost as if it’s gone bad. The Mongolian beef is nice, but we got the green curry ramen and the green curry was very thin. It wouldn’t even stick to or coat the noodles.
