I visited Richardsonās on 2/7 with my 2 daughters for the 3rd time within a month. A friend told me about the farm in I just had to check it out. To my surprise it was just what Iāve been searching for a clean, affordable farm with a variety of options to choose from to buy. I fell in love in spent way over my budget our first time there. We loved it so much that we returned the second time in a week. My kids and I had the same great first experience. We loved the hot bar as well. Fast forward to our 3rd visit we went to pick up more items. We grabbed our necessities and headed to the register to pay. Upon us entering the checkout line there was a customer in front of us in 2 cashiers. One bagging and one ringing. The 3 ladies was holding a conversation, but during the transaction the cashiers was stopping engaging in the conversation. My girls and I stood there for 5 mins waiting for the convo to end so that we can begin getting our things rung up. No acknowledgement that we were even standing there came from either cashier. I then asked the cashier if I could start putting our things on the belt then out of no where the cashier says āoh I guess we canāt talkā in a nasty tone. I replied āsure you can talk all you want thatās not the issue Iām just wondering if you can talk in still ring my items up. The cashier started mumbling things. She didnāt display a name tag. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor came out of the office by the name of Diane. I explained to her what occurred. She said she apologized and kept a smile on her face. The cashier then lied to her in said I was throwing things at her lol⦠how and why⦠smh.. I would have been locked up lol⦠I said run the cameras back. What an insult in I couldnāt believe she lied on me. Come to find out the cashier name was Carrie. I was told by the supervisor because the cashier didnāt display a name tag. I most likely will not be returning to the farm. Although the pot pies are so yummy, the fruit is super fresh, the greens are phenomenal in the overall...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI had just entered the store and saw they had sweet corn. They apparently have a sign not to check the corn. Me and my friend both didn't see the sign. I ALWAYS check my corn because why would I want it if it's bad? And I'm going to pissed if I get it home and it's already bad. So that's just laziness on their part because they said they don't want to have to clean up the bad ones. Sooo I'm supposed to pay you for the bad ones....makes sense. So I'm checking my corn and this dude stocking watermelom starts raising his voice at me making a scene that he told me four times to not check the corn and I just keep ignoring him. I never heard him once. I don't hear well out of one of my ears. I said okay, I'm sorry I didn't hear you and just said that I'd just go ahead and leave. Especially, after raising his voice at me trying to scold me like a child in front of a bunch of people. After I left, I called into the store to let a manager know how rude he was. The manager without apologizing at all for his employees behavior, just says oh well there is a sign there. We don't want to build up on waste from people putting them back of they're bad. Again, I guess because unlike everywhere else I've ever been, they are too lazy to clean up their produce area through out the day. Then he says okay, well I'll talk to him. Still no apology for him being rude and raising his voice at me. I drove 30 minutes here because I had brought my mother here who just passed and I wanted to take my friend back. It turned what I was hoping was going to be a nice time remembering mom, ended with me crying in the car because this guy wanted to be rude by assuming I heard him and ignored him on purpose. I'm not that kind of person. Definitely discrimination for me not being able to hear as well. Could have avoided the situation if this guy could have politely spoken directly to my face to assure I heard him. Destroyed that memory with mom. I will not return since they allow employees to discriminate against people with...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTLDR: Epic farmers market with amazing deli and prepared foods. Go for their sandwiches, pot pies and rotisserie chicken. Shop around for fresh produce, local snacks and spreads while you wait for your order. Finish by eating your goodies on the back patio overlooking the countryside.
Vibe: 5/5. Located in a renovated barn, this market is very clean and organized. Inside you have several areas to shop for produce, snacks and seasonings/spreads as well as the prepared foods counters in the back. Outside you have a greenhouse and back patio with tables, perfect for sitting to indulge in your purchases. The back patio overlooks the farmlands which in itself is a sight to see. Parking lot is large and easily accessible for everyone.
Service: 5/5. Everyone at the market are very nice and provide prompt service. The prepared foods and deli counters can get awfully crowded at peak hours, but the staff are always hustling to make sure everyone is served in a timely manner. Checkout is a breeze as there are usually 3 registers running.
Food: 5/5. This market puts out quality everything! From the prepared by order sandwiches to their produce and butcher, nothing has ever been below excellent. They roast all of their meats in house as well as bake all of their breads which takes their sandwiches to another level. The deli counter also has fantastic shrimp, rotisserie chicken and potato salad well worth taking a pint home. But make sure to leave room for dessert because all their sweets are made in house and taste amazing. Make sure to follow them on Facebook as they announce daily specials throughout the week that are not to be missed (some of the best chicken pot pie I have ever had). Grocery wise, they carry alot of local brands such as Roseda Beef, Stoltzfus, Taharka Ice Cream and Uncle Henry's Pretzels just...
