I went to the Shoe Show. I didn't get to go in the mall because they were closing. I did see that I absolutely want to go back. I went to visit my nephew in Williamson West Virginia. It's on the Kentucky border. I fell in love with this town! Everything you could possibly need is right on these few blocks hidden in this little town where people were not only walking on the sidewalks, but little groups would stop and visit with one another before going on their way. Side by sides rolled in groups of 7, 8 or 10 sometimes slowly down this little main street. Motorcycles too. Always respectful. Never too fast or dangerously. Every single place I entered was like meeting people from Mayberry. I expected Andy Griffith to walk in any moment. Everyone friendly, polite, neighborly. I have fallen in love with this little town that one wouldn't even need a vehicle in. You can walk to ANYTHING you need. I'm almost 2 hours from there, and I can't wait to go back! If a big name store is there, the owners of the mall have purchased a franchise and that is why it's still there. Would love to see them do more to fill it back up and not see so many empty places. Read moreMost stores are already vacated. The Peebles is closing so having a 'sale'. A lot of the merchandise doesn't have a price, the store isn't very organized due to closing and if the price ends in an 8, it's only 10% off (which is A LOT of the merchandise). The employees seem overworked and stressed. Which stress is expected when losing your job. Better corporate organization for store closings would help most employees deal with the situation.
