We shop for all our staples here, sugar, salt, canned goods, milk and creamer etc. I swear they are at least 1/2 as expensive as any other store in Wilmington for certain items, 1 example, I like shredded wheat at Wal-Mart $4 Publix $4.78 HT $5.02 and Food Lion $3.89 Yesterday Aldis price was $1.89 all boxes same size, Brand name, Millville that's their Store Brand, tastes the same looks the same. $2.00 cheaper than the cheapest Store Brand at the other stores. This pattern is the same for 90% of items. Don't pass up the Salmon, Steaks, Pork and Chicken, try it once and see. It's all vacuum sealed so we said nah, then on another monthly trip we bought a large Alaskan filet, it looked great but best of all it was as tasty as anything on ice in the top line stores we shop at occasionally, cost at Publix $14.00 1lb, fresh never frozen, delicious, Aldis $6.89 1 lb vacuum sealed on ship, never frozen. That's half as much, I can't tell the difference. Not everything is store brand, they have many Brand name items too. One big thing for older folks, the Store is smaller because most items are Store brand so shelf space is saved and you don't have to walk a mile, bring your bags or buy a few of theirs, one trade off for low, low prices. You owe it to yourself and your wallet to try it once, if you spend $100, you will make 5 trips to get it all in your home. Last trip my wife spent $306.00 I had to pay the kid next door $25 to get it upstairs, not joking, Great store if you're not a Brand Name Snob (like my wife was) even if you are, they do have some well known brands on some things. I bought 10 boxes of cereal for less than $20, that alone was worth the...

Selection is limited but whatever they have is very good. Most people that read it low do so because they are used to full-service grocery stores⦠The American way. However at Aldi you do have to put a quarter in to get a wagon and this is to keep prices down because people will put it back themselves rather than leave it in the parking lot to damage cars and have to pay an employee to go out and retrieve them every 10 minutes. This reduces overhead. So dues bagging your own groceries. I donāt know about you but I prefer to bag my own stuff anyways because I can bag it the way I want. It isnāt going to kill anyone to lift a finger.this is how grocery stores are in Europe. Produce and meat is super fresh. Dairy too. Literally a fraction of the cost elsewhere. Harris teeter and Lowes have raised prices so much... Walmart is well... cheap but who wants to go there if they donāt have to. So that being said Trader Joeās and Aldi are my go toās. Same company too. Reasonable prices. Food lion is best for items not availability at TJ,s and Aldi. Once again a European company... no need to be ripped off on...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreImportant: if you're planning on shopping for a week, bring a $.25 for a cart! Also, they charge for bags... Being your own, buy theirs, or use one of their stocking boxes (ala Costco.) They cut down on excess expenses. Aldi is my favorite grocer. Their primary focus is on affordable quality. (Think: trader Joe's, hold the hippie) They're small, but really have fantastic products (who really needs to choose from 15 kinds of ketchup!?) There's a nice range of seasonal things and there's a broad array of packaged cheeses (pre-shredded goudda anyone?) Their meat is well selected and priced. They also have a strategically selected produce section. All of their store brands are of fantastic quality. They also have a decent rotating housewares/etc that changes... Grills, house slippers, lawn chairs, shower mats, bakeware, picnicware, etc. It changes weekly. Again, Aldi is my...
