I asked for a gel manicure... after starting the whole cutting/filing part, the guy said I'm going to do powder for you because I think it will be better for your nails... I've tried powder once before at another salon (where it cost the same amount as gel) and when I tried it, I asked the guy what he recommended and he said gel works better on some nails and powder on others... leading back to P&C... I thought maybe there was something the guy noticed about my nails that would make powder work better, so I went along with it. I get up to the register and they charge me $40 instead of the $30 that a gel manicure costs. I questioned it and said I asked for gel and you told me you were going to do that instead... if you're going to make a suggestion where you're pretty much telling me, with broken English that's hard to understand, you should include that it's a $10 upcharge. It was sneaky and inappropriate and I was sitting somewhere where I couldn't see the price board. Instead of being every remotely apologetic about any miscommunication, he was rude and acted like he provided the exact service I asked for. It was poor business and I have been coming here off and on for 20 years and I will NEVER be back. I also have black stuff all along the outside of my nails (I guess from the powder) and I have a party tonight, so after paying $40 for my manicure, I'm going to have to buy nail polish remover and clean up my own nails

I just moved to DE - and had spent the whole day looking at reviews. These reviews were much more promising than the rest, so I called. The gentlemen on the phone was not as cheery as I had expected, but answered all my questions to my satisfaction. I was able to call at 4:00 on a Friday afternoon, and still get booked for 6:00 Friday night! I had not requested anyone via the reviews because I wanted to see the quality for myself. When I arrived the gentleman at the desk immediately stood up and I was able to tell him that I was arriving for my appointment. I washed my hands immediately and was approached by a nail technician, and asked to sit. My gel was taken off well. My nails are thin and got hot on one of the nails. My nail tech noticed and changed the pressure of the file so that I had no issues. I asked what my nail techs name was and it was Michael! He was so meticulous with my manicure! Many nail salons do not give a full or proper cleaning. Michael did an amazing job get all my cuticle! AND THAT NEVER HAPPENS AT THE OTHER SALONS! Michael took his time and did a beautiful job. I paid $30 for the manicure without tip. The staff looked very busy and to themselves, but they did a good job!

On July 5th, I asked for powder nails - I selected an off white color. The lady doing my nails picked a white, I said no, off white. After two sips, the color was off and she must have put a gel color on top. In the end my nails were fine. I liked them. I had gotten my nails down approximately 3 weeks earlier and thought I found a new stop after not getting my nails done for years. Today I got back and there is an up charge to remove the color and the older gentlemen keeps saying I had gel. And that I was going to get a fill. I gave my natural nails, don’t want a fill or gel nails. And really didn’t want to pay an up charge because she picked thought I would be okay with white nails and then instead of redoing them adding a layer in gel. Someone insisting that I’m getting gel and a fill when that’s not what I want is crazy. I read previous reviews and now exactly who the other reviews are referring to. Left with my nails in this shape. It wasn’t even about the removal and the up charge but the insistence I needed a fill and gel nails. 💅🏾
