Asbury Theological Seminary — Local services in Wilmore

I graduated from here in 2013 and it was a great time of schooling. This is one of the best seminaries in the States I believe. I cannot trade my experience here for a million dollars. The huge impacts of Dr. Ben, Turtle, Stamps, Mucherera, Systma, and a host of others can never be quantified. I will recommend this institution anytime any day. Since day one in Columbus at Vineyard church, I experienced a different set of community and fellowship that I had never felt in years. The professors are not just coming to teach us stuff but to touch our lives. The New Testament class by Dr. Ben Witherington was epic. I still shared the revelation of Jesus coming down to Peter’s level to meet him at the degree of love Peter was able to provide to Jesus instead of Him waiting for Peter or pressuring him to come to His level. Dr. Ben openly wept at that moment saying, “I wonder how many times I have expected people to come up to my level of love, intellect, spirituality etc before I can relate to them instead of stooping to meet them at the level they are at.” No amount of theory can teach me that. An excellent seminary. Seminary is not just a place where you learn academics. It is a place where you are formed as a person. Asbury takes this to heart, and this is clearly seen in the seminary leadership, the professors, and the student body. Pretty much every professor is knowledgeable, but also caring of their students. The student body is welcoming and community-oriented. The seminary is also great about offering financial aid and mental health services. Asbury Seminary is a wonderful institution and though I haven’t completed my master’s degree as of yet, I look forward to the return of my studies very soon. I’ve visited this campus back several years ago with my sweet mother in law Cheryl & it’s a beautiful campus & everyone was so friendly. The professors are encouraging & challenge students on many levels.
