I had a car accident in 2014 in Philadelphia and had to drop my classes from there because I couldn't walk and immediately called them because I was stuck in Philadelphia so I told them I would sign up next semester. Well I had to keep hitting my son's floor til I was able to walk on my own but I had a whole boot on when I fought to get back in school after being there almost 4yrs and was about to graduate with a couple more classes and while I was in school had been sick, hospitalized a few times and called the school and let them know walked out of the hospital few times cuz I didn't want to miss school and went to school on my meds just so I could do my assignments and all. I had never did an appeal or anything through them doing any of that time by God's grace I just was able to get to school. They just threw a paper at me and told me to do an appeal when I tried to talk to "RICKY HODGES" he didn't want to hear anything cept get my paper filled out/and or get my lawyers fax over proof I was in car accident how bout they did and no one seemed to find it. I am a 5x rape survivor, 29yr domestic survivor, drug&alcohol survivor, molestation survivor, 4 heart attacks, 3 strokes, disabled, walked on a cane 7yrs been off 13, need a wheelchair because of accident, had many operations and THROUGH GOD'S GRACE AND MERCY BECAME A "PASTOR" (April 2013) THROUGH THE MIDST OF IT ALL AND HOMELESS SINCE I GOT BACK TO WINSTON SALEM DEC 2014. I AM A FIGHTER AND THE STAFF IN ADMISSIONS IS GREAT TO ME AND THEY HAVE TRIED TO HELP BUT I WAS TOLD I COULDN'T EVEN GET A PERKINS LOAN (WHICH MOST OTHER SCHOOLS HAVE IT BUT FT DOESN'T TO HELP SOMEONE THAT'S HOMELESS FIGHTING TO GET THEIR EDUCATION NO ONE ELSE TALKED TO ME ABOUT ANYTHING CUZ NO ONE ELSE WANTED TO BE BOTHERED OR EITHER WASN'T THERE I BEEN FIGHTING SINCE DEC 2014 TO GET BACK AND I FINALLY HAD MY AUNT AND MAMA WHO BOTH ON LIMITED INCOME TO HELP ME WHICH THEY DIDN'T HAVE IT TO DO PAID FOR ME TO GO BECAUSE "I KEPT FIGHTING AND THEY KNOW I NEEDED THIS 1 CLASS TO GRADUATE WITH A CERTIFICATE TO GET BACK IN MY LAST COUPLE CLASSES TO GRADUATE WITH MY ASSOCIATES DEGREE BUT I'M THINKING ABOUT GRADUATING WITH THIS CERTIFICATE AND GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE BECAUSE THIS SCHOOL WILL STRESS YOU TO THE MAX !!!! SPECIALLY WHEN YOU ARE SOMEONE THAT BREAKS THEIR NECK TO GET AN EDUCATION. "I HAVE A LOT OF MEDICAL PROBLEMS AND WHEN I TOLD RICKY HODGES AND OTHER STAFF THEY IMMEDIATELY SAID YOU DON'T LOOK LIKE NOTHING WRONG WITH YOU BECAUSE I ASKED FOR "DISABILITY SERVICES". OTHER SCHOOLS HAVE CONTACTED ME INCLUDING HIGH POINT WHERE I GRADUATED IN THE BIGGEST ADULT G.E.D. CLASS AT GTCC ON MAINE STREET. I'M LITERALLY THINKING ABOUT LEAVING FORSYTH TECH AFTER I GRADUATE THIS SUMMER CLASS BECAUSE I NEED SOMEONE THAT'S GOING TO HELP MY EDUCATION THAT HAS THEIR EARS OPEN AND BOTH SIDES TALKING INSTEAD OF ONE SODE TALKING AND LISTENING THE OTHER "DAYDREAMING" BUT AS PEOPLE I LOVE YOU ALL...

Currently trying to finalize my financial aid already have called a million times, getting emails with no information of if I can start by the 18th, already have a bill showing, and still no help from financial aid. Systems have been updated with this new AI mess and I despise it. It is absolutely no help. No one answers phones no matter what number you dial. Buttons don't work on site to see information to contact financial aid where it lets you know there's needed documents. There's no where to upload documents. I am just frustrated and do not need this stress already and I haven't even started yet. Its already discouraging me to say the least. I went in person and the admissions department were on point, but when I was sent to the financial aid department, one lady was about to tell me she couldn't look me up, when another lady told her check because the system was back up, but then they still couldn't give me any information due to some messed up system update that prevents FASFA from being able to communicate efficiently with their new program running. Understaffed perhaps? I don't know, but going into the field of WEB TECH with a school who cant even get their websites working right is not encouraging to...

The most unprofessional organization in Winston-Salem. I was supposed to be starting the Horticulture program this fall, it was listed as an evening program on Forsyth techs website which I applied for. I sign up for first advising, after 2.5 hours of my time wasted I find out the program was wrongly listed as evening, as one of the classes I need is only offered in the day time without any other options. I work 40 hours a week from 8-4:30pm so I am very disappointed, and never would have wasted my time if the information on the website was correct. My first experience with Forsyth tech was not much better, as my advisor did not advise me well enough as a young student, and waited until I was supposed to graduate to tell me I was lacking 3 classes, but that I could still walk in the spring if I finished out my classes in the summer, which was not enough to make me a full time student which caused me to not be able to use but a fraction of my financial aid for the remaining classes. I recommend traveling further to another community college, but if you decide to waste your time and money with Forsyth tech then double and triple check everything because they are not looking...
