Absolutely Phenomenal Chinese Dining Experience! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
New Szechuan is hands down one of the best Chinese restaurants I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting, not just in Winston-Salem but anywhere! From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the incredible aroma of authentic Chinese spices and dishes cooking in the kitchen. It’s enough to make your mouth water before you even sit down.
The food here is nothing short of spectacular. Every dish is crafted with such authenticity that it feels like a trip to the heart of China. The menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of dishes to satisfy every craving—whether you’re a fan of spicy Szechuan specialties or prefer something milder like their stir-fried noodles or dumplings. I highly recommend their Kung Pao Chicken and Ma Po Tofu—absolutely bursting with flavor!
What really stands out is how affordable everything is. You can get a feast for a very reasonable price, which is rare these days for food of this quality. And let me tell you about the service—it’s lightning-fast! I couldn’t believe how quickly our dishes were brought out, steaming hot and ready to enjoy. The staff is so friendly and attentive, making the experience even better.
Another huge plus is the parking. There’s plenty of it, so you never have to stress about finding a spot, even during busy times. This is a huge win for anyone who knows how tricky parking can get in Winston-Salem.
If you’re someone who appreciates incredible food, fast service, and an authentic dining experience, New Szechuan is an absolute must-go. Everything from the rich flavors to the welcoming ambiance will keep you coming back. Even the smells wafting through the restaurant are enough to brighten your day—it’s a sensory experience you won’t forget.
Whether you’re a local or just passing through, do yourself a favor and stop by New Szechuan. It’s the kind of place that leaves a lasting impression, and I can’t recommend it enough. Delicious food, amazing atmosphere, great prices—what more could you ask for? Go, try it, and...
Read moreNo wait for a table and we visited around 1:30pm on a Saturday. Everything inside the restaurant was very clean including the mens bathroom. This place use to be a fast food restaurant so there is not much seating and i would not recommend bringing a group larger than 4. Staff greeted us immediately and were very kind, they were also dressed professionally for a standard restaurant and they were all groomed very well. We were asked what we wanted to drink almost immediately and our drinks arrived promptly. About 2 minutes later we were asked what we wanted to eat, and within maybe 6 minutes our children’s food was presented, then my wife’s order was delivered in about another 2-3 minutes and then came mine (spicy intestine noodle soup, understandable why mine took another 1-2 minutes). Our children loved their chicken noodle soup. My wife and I shared each other’s meals and we both loved our choices. If you love spicy asian style soups then this restaurant will not disappoint even in the slightest. If you are in a hurry and do not want to settle for traditional American fast food then this place is a solid choice, we were in and out in 30 minutes and it would have been quicker if the children ate as rapidly as my wife and i did. The restaurant is kid friendly in the sense that the staff have a good approach to helping children enjoy their food. I fully intend to eat here again hopefully every time i visit winston salem nc. Price was cheaper than the asian style restaurants in mount airy nc by at least 20% or more depending which restaurant in mount airy nc you choose. The menu reminded me very much of the many different Ramen, Pho, and Asian Soup restaurants that dominate the tacoma Washington area on the west coast… I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking to try something different or for those that are fans of ramen/pho, or anyone who simply wants to eat some delicious food without spending half their...
Read moreNew Sichuan is simply the best Chinese restaurant I've ever been to. I'll admit typical american takeout style Chinese food is not favorite type of cuisine. I'd never had Szechuan style Chinese food but one day someone posted a picture of DanDan Noodles online and it looked like something I had to try. Me and my family went to this place one random weeknight and all of us were blown away.
Its housed in what used to be an old Biscuitville on Silas Creek Parkway so the curb appeal is admittedly modest. The inside is on the small side with paper covering each table and they use plastic plates and utensils. However, the food is outstanding.
The Dan Dan noodles were even better than they looked from the photos I saw and the Wontons in red chili oil were out of this world. We also got Crab Rangoons which were the best ive had thus far. My dad ordered the ChongQuing noodles which came out in a spicy soupy broth that was maybe even better than the DanDan noodles I ordered. My mom tried the Crispy Chicken in garlic sauce which was skin-on bone-in chicken chopped into pieces with a delicious garlicy sauce covering it. My sister had the orange chicken which she said was wonderful as well. I have gone back several times since and tried numerous other items off the menu and can now confirm that the chef is just incredible. This has to be the best kept secret in Winston Salem. Highly recommended to anyone who likes their Asian cuisine with a little kick and...
