My husband has visited your golf course on 2 separate occasions, both of which have been horrible experiences because of the woman attending the front desk. He takes our 4 year old golfing with him (she has her own clubs, etc.) and today was the final straw. The woman went out of her way to be rude and abrasive, not allowing him to play his tee time because he had our daughter with him. We have never experienced this at any other golf course. I spoke with someone on your live chat platform this morning named Joaquin who confirmed that it is allowed to bring your child with you to your tee time, so I am very curious to know what the issue was in our particular case. When I called her and spoke to her, she stated that no one under 5 was allowed in the golf cart per policy, however, she never said that at all to my husband. She only stated that children were not allowed. I then contacted Golf Now for a refund, and Cheryl told the representative the following "Thank you for your patience Cedric. I just spoke to Cheryl at the course. They did mention that children younger than 5 are actually not allowed at the course. For next time though just be advised that children under then age of 5 are not allowed at the course during normal golfing seasons unless courses are having a specific Youth on Course kind of event where they allow children...
Read moreIn town for a quick round of golf and Winter Pines was prefect for what I was wanting. I had fun, it was a moderate challenge and the staff were friendly and informative enough that I would certainly go back.
Course conditions were average and on par (pun intended) with a local municipal course. The greens had an element of difficulty to them and offered some difficulty despite the short yardage of the course in general. I wouldn't compare Winter Pines to TPC Sawgrass, but if you could afford TPC or had the skill to play TPC, you wouldn't bee at Winter Pines.
Staff were friendly and informative. They treated me with dignity and respect and, though we aren't going to be BFF's, I imagine they treat everyone equally. I did like that they called your name out for starting (not many places do that).
Pace of play was fine. I played early in the morning and so it may get more crowded later in the day. My impression is that Winter Pines is the type of course many retired golfers go to in order to walk (push a cart) and get as many holes in as they can before it gets too hot to play. That's the general vibe.
I would recommend Winter Pines and would go back if the opportunity arose. Some players may have different ideas of what a course should or should not be, but honestly, it's a pretty good place to just play a...
Read moreThe golf course is ok, definitely on the cheaper side which is great, but we've consistently had issues with inconsistent policies. First they told us that it would be fine for the family membership to include my brother (aka my husband's brother-in-law), and then they went to sign up and they went back on their word. My brother even lives with us right now so he is part of our household, and our licenses prove that. Then we were told that ride alongs are free, and then we're told they're not the next time I go along with him. We wouldn't have minded paying but they either keep changing the policies and not saying anything about it or don't have consistent employee knowledge about the policies. Also their cart restrictions are terrible, some of the courses are so particular that you can't get off the fairway at all without it yelling at you. On hole 14 the cart trail itself was restricted, like where do you want us to go?? We saw a guy from the course who was going through and checking things out, not sure if someone else brought that up to them and he went to fix it, but hopefully...
