I was approached today by two young guys asking me to sign up as a donor. I offered to give a one time $50 donation, but they refused and insisted that I commit to a monthly payment instead. I explained that living paycheck to paycheck, another recurring expense isn’t realistic for me. They pushed back, saying that saving a dollar a day was easy and “made sense.”
I repeated that I had $50 I could spare right now, but a monthly fee wasn’t something I could take on. It turned into a back-and-forth until I finally walked away. I wanted to help in the way I could, but they literally turned down my donation because they wanted more.
Looking at the reviews afterward, I’m glad I didn’t go through with it, apparently people have had major problems canceling those monthly charges. What kind of legitimate donation organization refuses any contribution? This feels like a total scam, not a...
