Ugh. Had to leave at least a one-star review… Be warned of the rude staff before staying here. My stepmom and dad paid for a 3 week stay, getting the 4th week free. We’re still going through bank statements, but I believe they paid around $2500. Just days into their vacation from Texas, my stepmom came down with pneumonia and had to go to the hospital. She was making progress towards recovery and we had every reason to believe she’d be released and they could finish their stay, she’d regain her strength in order to make the drive back to Texas. This didn’t happen. Instead she suffered a stroke, was put on hospice and passed away on August 7th, the same day, Jan, the campground owner, informed my dad that even though they were booked until August 28th, he had to be out by August 21st. This was only a couple of days after she called me and asked me what I was going to “do” about my dad, who had food for the entire month since that’s how long they had planned to stay. I simply told her his desire was to stay because, at that time, his wife was making a recovery and there wasn’t anything I needed to “do” about him until I had more news about my stepmom. After my stepmom passed away, my stepsister and nieces went to the park to load up my stepmoms belongings. They spoke with someone in the office about the situation, explaining we’d be taking my dad back to Texas. This seemed, after all, to be what Jan wanted to be “done” with my dad. My nieces asked about any refund since their trip was cut so short and they were told that the state of the RV would have to be inspected. We all figured we’d never here from them as they seemed the type that would find some sort of issue even though they had made sure the RV was left spotless. One of the staff called my niece within a week to tell her that no refund was going to be made and that my dad actually owed THEM $8 for checking out early. The pettiness floored us. Oh AND they complained about having to clean the RV after my dad was there and my niece said shockingly, “you mean you DON’T clean the RVs between use?!”! This seems incredibly irresponsible at any time, but definitely during a pandemic. Before booking your stay, especially an extended one, watch out for the discourteous, petty and unfeeling staff. And bring your own sanitizing wipes since you may be staying in a filthy, germ-infested park.

Read moreAbsolutely nothing bad to say about this site or the staff! Clean, well maintained grounds, super clean bathrooms (cleaned every day), hot water with good pressure in the showers and a smile to greet you in the office!
One may consider this a bit more on the 'rustic' side since there aren't concrete pads to pull your rig onto, but the spots aren't so un-level that you're told when trying to reserve "... hope you have good levelers since a few pieces of wood won't work." I heard that statement a number of times when trying to reserve spots for this latest trip from a number of sites in the area. The sites are a mixture of pull thru and back in, so it's going to be the draw on which type you get, but if you're not a seasoned backer-upper, they will be more than happy to provide an escort and spotter at your site.
While on the subject of the staff... Jane and Danielle in the office were both very welcoming and always ready to help with a smile from check in time, through the various questions we had regarding local activities, where to buy firewood or ice (they have both on site!!) or where to score a breakfast that'll keep you full though all of your mountain adventures (the Hungry Bear if you're wondering).
You may be lucky enough to see some of the area's wildlife, from little squirrels running around scavenging to some large bucks or a doe or two scampering through the 'meadow' in the middle of the grounds with a couple fawns in tow.
Conveniently located just a minute or two from 'downtown' Woodland Park, it's close enough to run to the local Walmart or Safeway for some forgotten supplies but far enough out of town that you get a feeling of being 'away from it all'. Which is more that I can say about some of the RV parks/campgrounds that are nothing more than an open field with some weary travelers shoehorned in for...
Read moreI WOULD HIGHLY ADVISE PEOPLE NOT TO CAMP HERE WITH OR WITHOUT ANIMALS…First off I stayed here with my family when I was a child and had OK memories of being here...
Though as an adult camping here has it been an UNPLEASENT EXPERIANCE...!!!
For one the park is mostly inhabited with persons of the older generation 65 on up who stay here full time over the season and have nothing better to do except complain about the people camping out in tents “The Tent People” whom have animals… dogs in particular!!!
The staff will consistently remind you to keep your dogs on a leash because the trailer people want to complain that your dogs are off leash when in fact the full time residents have nothing better to do then to call the office and complain about the “Tent” people…!!!
Listen when I’m 80 years old I won’t be an immature person.
It realty surprises me that people that are mature in age can be so immature…
The staff art Diamond Campground will remind you that “THIS IS OUR CAMPGROUND NOT YOURS!” when a bald male staff member told me that I was absolutely appalled…So much for customer service and guest hospitality..!!!
Really if it wasn’t for the people that camp here there wouldn’t be a fricken “Campground” here…Also It seems to me that the people that are here full time have special privileges over the “Tent” people…
I WILL NEVER CAMP OUT HERE AGAIN AND WILL STRONGLY ADVISE OTHERS NOT TO AS WELL…!!!
There are six campgrounds in Woodland Park I would not recommend this one..!!!
Really when I’m over 65 I’ll be a mature person and retired like in the Virgin Islands or Hawaii not in some white trash camping motor home or trailer park acting like I’m so much better than the “TENT PEOPLE” that are camping next door…
It’s rather funny but you senior people need...
