I can't tell you WHY this is the best place in the Portland area to find Scandinavian candy, but I can tell you THAT this is the best place in the Portland area to buy Scandinavian candy.

More broadly, the shop is so very cute, with all sorts of adorable and unique gift items. In my opinion, prices are fair and reasonable. From what I understand, different artists and artisans from the community have space inside the store to sell their products, so you'll always find something different here.

As a cherry on top, you can grab a cup of coffee here and test some of their products (like really fancy flavour syrups from France) and then go out on their deck and enjoy the view of the river. There are surprisingly few businesses along here that take advantage of the beautiful river here, so I recommend stopping in to Laurel Market for this...

I could spend hours in this adorable store! All the details that even went in to the interior design and decor. And the river view too, is stunning!
