UPDATE: I tried a few other places and stylists and didn't find anywhere I liked better than Olive Hill, and often paid a higher price. The owner, Arlene, contacted me and offered to cut my hair. She did a great job and I'll be returning soon. Hopefully their stylists have stabilized but in any case I'm happy to avoid that by scheduling with the owner.

OLD REVIEW: I like this hair salon and continue to come here. A year ago I would have given it enthusiastic five stars. But the place was sold to a new owner a year ago and since that time they have had high turn-over of stylists causing me to have to change three times. I don't like to change stylists because each new person requires multiple haircuts of iteration to develop a new style that I like. Once I find a recipe I like, I want to stay with it for a few years until I choose to change, not be forced to change because the stylist quits. Not sure what is causing this issue with retention. Also they have raised the price three times over the last 1-2 years such that it is approaching double what I was paying before. It's getting too expensive for what I'm willing to spend on a simple men's haircut. So while I love the location and feel of the place I may soon start looking for a new salon. Megan is AMAZING at doing platinum blonde hair!! She fixed my hair after I tried to bleach it at home (I know, I know) and it was multiple shades of orange and yellow. There was one band of really noticeable orange about 4 inches from my scalp and all the way around my head, and she was able to blend it in with the rest of my hair so it didn’t stand out. She had to strategically time the bleach on this one section to make sure it blended with the rest of my hair, and she did it all in one session. I had called a few places before coming here and all of them said I would need several sessions to get my hair all the same color of platinum blonde. Thank the hair gods that I called Olive Hill and spoke to Megan because she knew exactly what she was talking about and didn’t shame me for trying to bleach my own hair.
