Some nurses are nice and do what they can; hence the 2 stars, but this has fallen down on ADA obligations. No phones for the hearing impaired, which would pretty much be everyone. Mom has been here for 4 weeks and still has no way to have effective communication with family out of the area. Next step is for me to open a complaint with the ADA for discrimination against the disabled.
Food is not very good either. Most of the time it's cold and tasteless.
Update: the director of infrastructure; and the owner of the place came to my mom's room to personally meet her and assure her they would provide her with an adequate phone for her needs. Apparently, my multiple requests over the past 4 weeks never made it past the floor or social worker. The director ordered one and it will be installed in 2 days. I was pretty impressed by this, so I added a star. I'm still looking to have her transferred due to other issues, but this personal attention was very much appreciated.
The PT drill sergeant doesn't work well for mom. she isn't into an 8am roll to the gym, just to be left sitting in her chair for hours until it's her turn. It's too painful, which they don't seem to care about. She's gone downhill physically since being there.
The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing when it comes to medications either. they either missed medications that she was taking at home, or the list says to give her something but the nurses don't give it to her, or they say they've given it to her but they haven't really done so.
my mom is actually worse there than she was at home. she has declined dramatically since...
Read moreWalking into Woonsocket Health Center I feel like I am home! The facility is family owned and operated and they are committed to outstanding care. When first entering the facility it is beyond welcoming, clean, well-staffed and peaceful. There are beautiful common areas for family and friends to gather and spend time. The nursing staff is compassionate, consistent, respectful, friendly, caring and supportive. From what I have seen in my time here, the staff treats each resident like they are family. The facility includes a state-of-the-art rehab center with private rooms which include a private bathroom and shower and full-time therapists working 7 days a week to help residents make a rapid recovery. Our therapists take immense pride in their work and seeing patients recover. We encourage all our residents to engage in daily activities such as bingo, bowling, Yahtzee, movies, sing-a-long’s, story time and many more! I cannot say enough about how great this facility is. Without a doubt, I’d trust, feel safe and at peace, knowing my loved ones were being taken care of as I would take care of them, here at...
Read moreI came to the rehab center for rehabilitation after a lengthy hospital stay. At 54, I was in bad shape. I couldn't stand nevermind walk. I had no bladder or bowel control and other complications. the best way to describe this nightmare was the "lack of respect" received there. These people treated me like an inconvenience. They accused me of wetting or soiling myself on purpose just to make things more difficult for them. I was actually mortified to have to ask for help in that department! I was scared and in incredible amounts of pain. I had no idea what was going on since I had no memory of the hospitalization or what had sent me there. There was no compassion. But there was abuse both verbal and physical! I am now, 2 years later able to write this as part of my healing from PTSD because of the trauma of this! More could be written, but it's painful enough to bring up these memories. Please don't send your...
