I LOVE THIS PLACE!
I came to the Fighting Fit as an injured runner at the advice of my doctor to begin a cross-training program. I have many friends who train here and they have asked me to try to this gym for years. I should have listened to them sooner.
The trainers push me hard, make me laugh and are extremely patient with me. I had never lifted before and was very uncomfortable with the entire concept at first. The members are all so welcoming and kind and I'm happy to say that I've met many dear friends through the Fighting Fit. It is the true definition of a community.
I still run, but I now log less miles than I have in years- and I am faster than I was 15 years ago. I'm over 40 and am now able to accomplish physical feats that I could not accomplish when I was in my teens and twenties. I'm excited to see how strong I can become.
I love this place so much that my teenage children now train with me. My daughter has taken the self-defense course and really enjoys her kickboxing classes. My son has become a stronger, faster runner through training and has made so many new friends in the Bad Boys junior program.

Read moreThe fighting fit through the never resting enthusiasm of the owner Barry and trainers working there have combined several different types of training to make this training facility (not simply a gym) the most well rounded individually oriented training facility anywhere near the downriver or even southeast Michigan area.
Barry and staff can take anyone male or female with any level of fitness and show you how to enhance the quality of your life through their training methods like no place I have trained at.
You can choose from self defense oriented Krav Mag and ground fighting or crossfit, strenght, powerlifting or a hybrid of all the above as I do.
The strong emphasis on technique and education combined with a personnel approach that makes you feel more like close friends or family is like no other training facility in the area.
If you are working out or training somewhere else and your focus is long term health and fitness you are in the wrong place.

Read moreIt's been a rough year for me. I decided to finally put myself first. That's when the 21 day challenge popped up in my Instagram feed. I decided to take the plunge and try out the fighting fit.
Never in my life have I felt so immediately comfortable in a gym.
Its been a month and I've lost 10lbs. Losing fat, gaining muscle.
Most importantly my mental and physical health have improved immensely. I'm sleeping better. More energy. More motivation.
It's all thanks to the guidance and support of Jaimie and my new buddies at the fighting fit.
It's hard work but it fun and extremely rewarding.
I wish I could give them 10 stars for the amount of care and kindness the owners give out.
