Harbor Freight — Local services in Wyoming

If I could give zero stars I would. I pre ordered an item that was not available in store almost 3 weeks ago and was told if i pre order it then it will likely ship faster and be in time for Christmas.

I called to check on my order a week later and was told if it is not on the 12/21 shipment it will be in on the 12/24 shipment.

I called this morning and was told it will not be in until after Christmas, and what likely happened was my order came in but was sold to someone else. I was told I cannot have the display model, which I understand, but can either pay $200 more for a different model or get a refund. The supervisor did not work with me at all, even though he admitted it was the stores mistake.

I reiterated that I payed for the product, was told by two of his staff members it would be in on time for Christmas, then was told the product was likely sold to someone else, only to have two options: pay double for the product or get my money back and have no gift for my husband 3 days before Christmas and am basically screwed. The supervisor says yes, meaning the customer is getting screwed.

*The supervisor did not fail to mention that this has happened to 6 other people and that his staff were telling people it would ship faster if payed up front to push...

I have made several purchases at Harbor Freight and have never been disappointed. Sales reps are always helpful. However my most recent purchase a Predator 2" Intake/ Discharge Water Pump with 212cc gasoline engine proved to be a dismal disappointment. On the plus side the Predator gas engine started on the second pull, and ran quietly. However it didn't seem as if it was developing full power even when warmed up- choke fully off ,throttle wide open. Ok, maybe it's low noise output camouflaged it's power . On the negative side the pump would not prime after several attempts. Several attempts to pump water up approx 8ft from my basement to driveway failed. Several more attempts placing the pump at a lower level and closer to my basement failed. This pump just would not prime. Yes, fittings were tight - no leaks detected. The 2" inlet hose which came coiled in a handy package was almost impossible to uncoil . I had to pour hot water into it to make it somewhat pliable . Bottom line: Predator engine-- good This Predator pump as a unit- disappointing This pump and related items are going back to the store.

Actual Suction Head Height spec would have been more helpful than...

Hey All, Well, let me just say this....for almost EVERYTHING tool related for construction, welding, car painting and numerous other professions, Harbor Freight has what you're looking for at phenomenal quality and price vs the big name brands. Harbor Freight has become my new favorite tool store. Maybe I'm late to the game on this...lol....but I have found it now. And I'm sure you'd be pretty happy about finding one near you and at least checking it out 1 time. They have memberships available as well....no obligation to buy one....but having one will get you special deals on items. I liked that option, so I chose the 2 year deal for $45.

I have purchased several items from them and I am very please with the ruggedness and quality of those items. We are currently doing some renovations and buying my tools there have already saved us $100's !!

I hope this review helps you make a positive decision one way or the other. But I don't think you'll be disappointed going there at least once.
