this store is filled with the kindest workers. they walk around with smiles on their faces and are just so welcoming. my family and I got their breakfast sandwiches and WOW! they were delicious! despite what people are saying about the man who works behind the food counter, he is an individual who is in charge of making these orders all by himself. i work at a restaurant and it is SO EASY to mess up, forget, or just in general misunderstand orders. please be considerate about what you are saying. we are all human. they are short staffed. to end on a positive note, i would recommend going in even if its just for a peek. loved it—following up on this review a year later. i wish i could add another star on because i would. each morning, i would wake up and walk down to this store from the hotel at which i was staying. the coffee, the people, the food…SO INCREDIBLE! the man behind the counter i swear makes the BEST breakfast sandwiches i’ve ever tasted, the girl behind the iced coffee counter is just so sweet, and the woman at the cashier is so friendly. i wish a store like this existed...

Long Sands General Store York, Maine. We've been passing by this General Store for years, always intending to explore it. Today, we finally stopped by. It's a quintessential beach-style General Store, offering essential groceries for vacationers, souvenirs, and a delightful deli counter with a simple yet affordable menu. We ordered a slice of Pepperoni Pizza, Clam Chowder, an Italian Sub, a bag of chips, and a Soda, totaling a mere $30, which I found to be very reasonable considering the quality received. The Clam Chowder, although perhaps not the best in the area, was very good, with a thin broth filled with clams and potatoes. The Pizza and Italian Sub were delicious, made with fresh ingredients. The service was exceptional, with the woman behind the counter being extremely friendly and helpful. We dined at a picnic table outside, overlooking the beach and ocean across the street. If you're in the Long Sands area, enjoying a day at the beach, the Long Sands General Store is an ideal spot to pick up a few goodies for a day...

Out favorite general store! I chose where I stay based on proximity of the best palace to get Coffee and a Breakfast Bulkie. Lunch is awesome too! Everyone says they have the best lobster roll in the area, LSGS actually does. They made us two rolls for our trip home, wrapped up perfectly. They made it all the way across the street to the car. They smelled so good we sat right there in the car and ate them for breakfast while taking in our last breaths of salt air before we made the 4 hour trek home to the catskills. Don't know where we will stay next trip to York, but you can bet it won't be too far from Long Sands...
