Long Multi-Part Review went from 5 to 1 star
[See all pictures below] Updated again- 09/18/2025 There has still been no resolution to refunding or replacing my chain for losing it. The Jeweler, who has claimed to have done this for 25 years, is still saying the chain he gave me is my chain because the weight & length is the same & that it just āstretched outā when I broke it. My chain manufacturer has already said they do not have any chains that are stamped with āALIā as the chain is that they gave me back. I will not be fooled into believing the chain they gave me is the one I submitted. I have provided pictures of these interactions.
Edited Again: 08/22/2025 to add the picture of the email from the site I bought the chain stating they are not the same chain, nor do they have the āALIā stamp on their 10k gold chains.
Edit Updated: 08/19/2025 I really despise when people use the phrase ādo you know how long Iāve been doing this.ā As if experts in their fields canāt make mistakes. That sentence alone will have me seeking for a new jewelry store. However, this is what I was told when I stated this was not my chain & he followed up with that heās ābeen doing this for over 25 yearsā & asked me what my credentials as if to contest him like some competition. I stated I was an artist with a good eye for details, but besides that; he may have done this for 25 years, but Iāve worn that necklace around my neck every single day for 2 years so I know when something is off and I know it VERY well. I knew it was wrong from the day I picked it up. Family & I used this business for years. Only issues weāve had before is timing, but owner usually makes it right with us. I submitted an 18inch white gold 10k chain along with my wifeās ring. Picked it up a few weeks later & noticed it wasnāt with my wifeās ring when we picked it up. He said it was because it was two separate orders, they were dropped off at the same time by my wife so not separately. My necklace felt light & cheap and the back of the 10k said āALIā on it. Which appears like it wouldāve or couldāve been purchased from AliExpress (cheap site.) Notified the store immediately the day I picked it up, they said they didnāt have any other chains matching my description. This chain isnāt even durable enough to hold my pendant that was on it before. Mine moves like snake scales & this twists and gets kinked up easily because itās cheap. Owner measured it, weighed it & said it matches the description and itās a box chain & I said mine is a Franco chain. I said so are you going to say itās a Franco now? He said he was going to call the company I purchased mine from to see if they have the āALIā stamp on the back of their jewelry & I said Iād reach out too. As of right now, Jewelry Closet says itās my chain and thatās about it. I stated that it kinks easily and my chain had significant weight to it and this does not. He tried to say that āit got stretched out when it brokeā which I have never heard of happening because it wasnāt stretched out when I gave it to them. The photograph he showed me of my submission to him, was a black and white, small photo that could verify no detail whatsoever besides a ring and a chain. I will probably be taking it to another jeweler for a second opinion. I doubt my family and I will be doing business with this jewelry store as I have to be able to trust when I give my jewelry that Iām not going to receive something else back besides what I submitted, even if accidental. I donāt know where my chain is, but I do not believe this is my chain. Im not implying something was done intentionally or with malice, it could have been a simple accident, but they should take better precautions to ensure this doesnāt happen. It would be very unfortunate if someone intentionally swapped it out for a cheaper chain thinking customers wouldnāt notice.
Previous review- Family & I use this business as our only jewelry place. Had some timing considerations & the owner worked with me. Awesome customer experience, great business, and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWhat a joke this place is. I wanted a minor repair done on my ring (solder) and I was told by the smug old lady behind the counter that it would take 2 and a half weeks and if I wanted it quicker it would be double the price. I found someone reliable near to their location that will do it the same day for me at much less than what Jewelry Closet wanted to charge me. She then has a cheek to tell me well if I want to take my jewelry elsewhere I can do so. I will never put foot in this joke show again. I just had the ring repaired for $30 when Jewelry Closet wanted to take 2.5 weeks and charge me $78. Its really sad that businesses like this are even still open. But because Yukon and Mustang does not have a lot of choices these people absolutely take advantage of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI went to the Jewlery Closet expecting to be told the same thing about my inexpensive wedding band as the stores at the mall - nothing can be changed, but the staff here explained that I could make the changes and repairs to my wedding band that I was wanting. They were even able to provide me with a several options and quotes within just a few minutes. I really appreciated the time, attention and explanations (what type/size of stone I could use without overpowering my design, how much a repair would be for a small missing diamond, why I should permanently combine my wedding band and the engagement ring). I will be returning here for my jewelry needs and I would recommend the Jewelry Closet...
