Spanish Cove Retirement Community — Local services in Yukon

I would give them 4 1/2 stars if I could! My aunt, 92, just recently passed and was a resident at Spanish Cove for the past 4 years. It was a wonderful place to live. She went through all spectrum of their living facility while she was a resident. She moved into one of the 1-bedroom apartments initially and soon joined several groups and enjoyed several activities including game-playing social groups. Then, after having several medical issues, she was sent to "skilled nursing" where they took very special care of her until she could go back to her apartment. Several months later she had more intense medical issues and we had to move her into the wing that was full-time care and they were very caring and extremely informative to me when she continued to have another more intense stroke and had to be sent to Baptist Hospital. After a few days we had to make "THE DECISION"--either hospice house or send her back to her home in at the west wing of Spanish Cove. Although hospice was a very good option, we decided to let her go back to her home. The Staff there was amazing!! They really wanted her there with them, even though they would not gain anything from it. I cannot tell you how many staffers told me that they loved her so much and wanted her to be at "Home" with them! And that they did...to she took her final breath! And they were just amazing to my husband and myself after she passed! THEY WERE AMAZING...

Our experience with spanish cove has been nothing short of amazing. From the moment we walked in, we were welcomed with warmth and professionalism. The facility is always clean, well-maintained, and has a comforting atmosphere that truly feels like home.

The staff goes above and beyond to provide excellent care, treating residents with dignity and respect. They are attentive, patient, and genuinely care about the well-being of each resident. The medical team is knowledgeable and proactive, ensuring that all health needs are met with compassion and efficiency.

Activities and social engagement are also a highlight here! There’s always something fun and stimulating planned, helping residents stay active and connected. It’s reassuring to know that our loved one is not only receiving top-notch care but also enjoying their time.

We highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe, loving, and professional environment for their family member. It has truly been a blessing...

this place doesn't even deserve a 1 star but since half stars aren't available a 1 it is..my dad was in the long term care for 4 days in April of this year and in those 4 days ( 12 plus shifts) they neglected my dad and withheld all of his lifesaving medication. They literally almost killed him. There are absolutely no answers that these so called "caregivers" could give that can ever explain what they did in withholding his medications. He was in the hospital for a week and in the ICU for 2 days due to their abuse and negligence. And to add insult to injury after paying these "caregivers" 12,400 plus 2,000 deposit they quietly put 7,000 back in my dads account...so these greedy "caregivers" got to keep 7000 after almost killing my dad...do not send your elderly family members to this place...not if...
