I was so ecstatic to come support a local business for all my cake baking needs. They recently expanded their lower level to provide baking supply products. My husband bought me $50 dollars in gift certificates (2 $25 dollar certificates) for my birthday for here. I went in there yesterday to grab a few items I was going to need and planned on using my gift certificates. This was the second time, of what I thought would be many, of ever going there. The items I needed came to a little over $26 dollars. I did not expect to get cash back since I did not need exactly $50 dollars in items. I assumed they would use the one certificate and adjust the balance of the other certificate to account for the slight overage from the one $25 dollar certificate. I was told that they don't do that and that I would be forfeiting the remaining $23 dollars and some change on the second certificate. As most people, I didn't have cash on me to pay the dollar and some change overage of the one certificate and there was a $5 minimum purchase to use a debit card. I was super disappointed in that policy and ended up paying the total balance with my debit card and keeping my $50 in gift certificates. I will be using the $50 in certificates all at once here really soon and unfortunately will not be back to support this business. I will just go back to using Amazon or travel to Pittsburgh and support Make A Cake supply store for my future needs. The candy store is beautiful and the staff are extremely friendly but this experience has left a sour taste...
Read moreI was in to visit a few Fridays ago around 2, to see the baking supple part of your store heard alot of great stuff about it. But was sadly disappointed, was going to go through the bottom entry way but couldn't it was locked even though there was someone down there who looked to be working and a few other people were down there, so I drove around the building enter through the top the two lady's upstairs were really friendly nice and sweet I go downstairs and she IS working she has headphones in so she doesn't reply she sees me down there but still don't help doesn't even remove said headphones and she is wearing a tank top working with food products. So I didn't get any baking supplies that day.
Only reason they are getting the stars I gave was because of the lady's upstairs.
The FDA food code requires food employees to wear clean outer clothing to prevent contamination of food, equipment, and more. The code also requires covering body hair, including armpit hair. Never have I gone somewhere that bags food and seen someone who wears a tank top I'm sorry that just seems very...
Read moreI’ve been coming to Baldinger’s Candy Store since I was a kid, and even after all these years, it still has that same nostalgic charm. The only thing that’s really changed is the selection—which has grown and evolved over time in the best way.
The candy selection is incredible, with everything from old-school throwbacks to new favorites. If you can think of it, they probably have it. Prices are very reasonable, especially given the variety. There’s also a small section featuring wine from a local winery, which is a nice touch and great for supporting local businesses.
Don’t miss the downstairs bake shop area—it’s full of baking supplies like cookie cutters, cake decorations, sprinkles, and other fun items. It’s such a great addition to the store and perfect for anyone who loves to bake.
Even 15 years later, walking in still gives you that same giddy, kid-in-a-candy-store feeling. It’s grown a lot, but Baldinger’s still feels like a small-town treasure. A truly special place I’ll always...
