lovely skatepark. However, today’s experience was a racist one. People travel near and far to come check out and skate "PUBLIC" skateparks. Not show up and be watched, approached and treated with bias simply because of the color of their skin. Not OK at all.
Ironically enough, a group of teens, two male and two female, "Caucasian" showed up who weren’t there to skate, nor swim at the pool next to the skatepark. But instead, they paired off to hook up. One couple disappeared while the other began hooking up on the far end of the skatepark, openly on the other side of the fence that surrounds the skatepark. There were little kids around. They didn't care who saw them. Perhaps instead of observing what a person of color does, try watching out for people who are actually...
Read moreGreat park. I have been living in the area for around 30 years and have watched this already great park evolve and blossom into a great place for many people of different interests. The playgrounds have been updated to include some work out stuff and some great handicapped accessible playground equipment. The pool has recently been updated to add a great play area for small children. The amphitheater that was added a few years ago is like our own mini "starlake" in town. They have also just installed a great concrete skatepark that was designed with lots of input from amateurs and...

The trail here is pretty small and lack-luster conspired to the other parks I visit regularly, and I rarely use it. My biggest issue is the man who sits in his little silver car at the entrance of the road leading to the baseball fields. He constantly yells at people for little infractions, and feels creepy being as hes an older man alone in a children area of a park every day. I don't feel very safe around him, and avoid him at all costs.
Back to the good stuff- they've recently put in "work out" esuiptment, and I love the idea to help keep people in shape,...
