We stayed at this hotel for three nights and our overall experience was just okay. The room didn’t quite match the photos online. Something that seems to be common throughout Vietnam, where places tend to look better in pictures than in real life. The room was quite dark and not really a space where you’d want to sit and relax.
The pool was a nice feature, but it didn’t feel very clean. The bottom was slippery due to algae and although there were water filters installed, they were never turned on. Still, it was a decent spot to lounge by.
Breakfast was disappointing. I’d rate it a 5 out of 10. It was just enough to get something in your stomach, but I didn’t enjoy it. The selection was limited (especially by European standards) and most of the food was very dry.
We also rented a scooter for three days but unfortunately, that came with quite a bit of hassle. The hotel forgot about it on the first day and when we finally got one, it was very old and uncomfortable. We switched scooters three times and on the last night, the third scooter’s lights didn’t work, which is extremely unsafe given the lack of street lighting in the area. We ended up relying on taxis several times.
However to their credit, the hotel did not charge us for the scooter rental in the end, which we really appreciated given the circumstances.
The staff is friendly and housekeeping was good but overall, the experience didn’t meet our expectations. We had...
Read moreI can't say good enough about my stay at Chez Cao. First of all they have been very helpful and communicative via WhatsApp helping also with the bus reservation. The lodge itself has a distinctive personality, very beautifully decorated with wood and stone and a beautiful swimming pool. The room is gorgeous, with a little living room facing the rice fields, extremely comfortable, spotlessy clean with both airconditioning or heating according to the weather temperatures. The bathroom is fantastic, very big with both bath and shower. I slept very well, the mattress and pillows are soft enough for a dreamy night. From the moment you step in, you can feel all the love and attention that the staff dedicate to their activity. All of them can speak english very well, they are cheerful and very professional. Breakfast is delicious with a balanced choice of salted and sweet dishes with a typical vietnamese soul. In addition all meals proposed during the day are delicious and at a fare price. With the free bikes you can easily go around discovering the city. There is another thing I particularly appreciated, they offer many services (restaurant and bar, spa, massages, tours) but they never ever pushed me to consumption, they remain always at your service but very discreet. I enjoyed every moment and I was sincerely sad when I had to leave...
