Husband’s Brew & Plates - Restaurant- Coffee — Restaurant in Ninh Bình Province

We recently tried Husband’s Brew & Plates for carry-out and had a mixed but overall positive experience. The staff was very kind and helpful, even offering us free watermelon while we waited - a nice touch that set a welcoming tone.

We ordered fried rice with beef and vegetables, chicken stir-fried noodles, and the sweet and sour chicken. Portions were generous and well-presented, making the meal a good value. The sweet and sour chicken isn’t fried like typical Western Chinese food, but it was still tasty. Our 1-year-old especially loved it.

That said, the overall flavor was on the bland side. A little sauce or even basic salt and pepper would have gone a long way, and no condiments were included with our take-out. This kept the food from being as memorable as it could have been.

We came here for lunch and ordered salads, which took 30 minutes to arrive. The staff doesn’t speak English, so we had to use a translator to request additional options. Unfortunately, they still didn’t understand me, and I was given a salad with dressing, even though I specifically asked for it on the side.

There was also a very unpleasant incident: one of the staff members, an elderly man, brought the utensils and placed them in a box on the table, holding the knives and forks by the working surface with his bare, dirty hands.

I recently decided to visit this place after seeing all the 5 star reviews, but I found the place to be very disappointing.

The food was below average, and the atmosphere was not pleasant.

The staff smiled when serving food, but I could hear them moaning and complaining when they walked away.

After checking the reviews again, I noticed that a lot of the same pictures were used on multiple reviews, and I realised that many of the 5 star reviews were obviously fakes made by friends and family of the owners.
