# Roman Bar Recommendations, Issue 3: Speakeasy

Jerry Thomas Speakeasy, reservations required, ranked among the 50 world's best bars for five consecutive years. 🥂 Speakeasy, a term that harks back to the Prohibition Era (1920-1933), refers to secret bars that required finding a discreet entrance and a password to gain entry. This bar preserves that mysterious atmosphere and ritualistic feel. Besides its hidden location, you also need a password received via email when making a reservation. 🕵️‍♂️ Oh, and if it's your first visit, there's a 5-euro membership fee. 💰 The entire experience of finding the bar, getting introduced, entering with the password, taking a seat, and becoming a member is incredibly immersive, enjoyable, and novel. The process was so stunning that I forgot to take a photo of the drink menu (excuse me!), and now it's hard to match the drinks with their names after some time has passed. But they were all very classic. 🥃 There was a Fizz-type drink that intriguingly had a tiny bit of absinthe added. After the creamy, sweet-sour taste, the herbal flavors lingered in the mouth. It was an amazing balanced combination! 🍃 The "fire liquor" (I don't remember its name) was the most expensive drink on the menu at 30 euros. You can ask the bartender to watch a Rolling performance at the bar. When tasting this drink after it was made, it was still hot. You could smell a strong alcohol sensation, along with notes of orange and hot chocolate. As the temperature cooled slightly, you could taste a faint burnt wood aroma and overripe apple flavors, followed by a hint of honey. It was a great experience. 🥩 Their restroom is also quite unique—please explore it yourself. 🛁 The bartenders were very friendly and enthusiastic. They helped us update the Rome bar map. The latest version can be seen in the last picture. 🗺️ In their minds, Italian Style is time-specific: Aperol Spritz during the day and Negroni at night. 🍸 It was a great experience, and I hope to come back again. #bar #cocktail #italy #rome #europe #europetravel
