This trip was extra special! Since weโ€™ve already explored many islands, we decided to take our dog on a hiking adventure in Arizona ๐ŸŒ‹ (easy-going version!). ๐Ÿ“ Our Route: Toronto โ†’ Phoenix โ†’ ๐Ÿš— Sedona โ†’ Back to Phoenix We took the airport shuttle to the car rental (lots of options available) and drove straight to Sedona after picking up the car. ๐Ÿจ Hotel: Residence Inn (beautiful views + kitchen suite โ€” super convenient!) ๐ŸŒ„ Sedona Highlights: Drove via Payson โ€” a scenic 3-hour route with stunning but winding roads โš ๏ธ Ate at Willows Kitchen & Wine Bar (patio with roses everywhere ๐ŸŒน) Hiked Oak Creek Canyon (shady, easy trail with a creek โ€” perfect for dogs!) Visited Tlaquepaque Village (Spanish-style, pet-friendly, great for photos & dinner) Caught sunset at Sedona Airport Scenic Lookout ๐ŸŒ‡ Stopped by Chapel of the Holy Cross (closes at 5 PM โ›ช) Drove around randomly โ€” stumbled upon so many beautiful spots! ๐Ÿฅฐ ๐Ÿš— Heading Back to Phoenix: Took the 2-hour highway from the Blue McDonaldโ€™s (yay McMemes! ๐ŸŸ๐Ÿ’™) Stopped at Arcosanti โ€” an eco-utopian architecture site. We missed the tour but explored ourselves and bought souvenir magnets! ๐Ÿ˜ Visited Cosanti Originals Gallery in Phoenix (similar style, closes at 5 PM) ๐Ÿœ๏ธ Phoenix Stay: Arizona Biltmore, LXR Hotels & Resorts ๐ŸŠโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐ŸŒต Pet-friendly with multiple pools and a huge, beautiful resort grounds One snack provider onsite โ€” other meals are paid, but daily activities are fun! ๐ŸŒ… Phoenix Sightseeing: Papago Park โ†’ Hole in the Rock for sunset (easy climb, dog-friendly!) Happy discovery: Phoenix has IN-N-OUT! ๐Ÿ”๐Ÿ˜† Skipped Desert Botanical Garden since our hotel had plenty of cacti already ๐ŸŒต โ˜€๏ธ Tips: Itโ€™s already hot โ€” sunsets are cooler, but days are scorching.
