🏛️ A Historic Treasure in Chicago! 🍻✨

Step into a world of timeless elegance and hearty flavors at this gorgeous retro-style upscale restaurant, where top-tier service, an incredible variety of beers, and delicious food come together to create a truly unforgettable Chicago experience! 🥳👏 We absolutely loved the "Build Your Own Beer Flight" option — the perfect way to sample a range of unique brews. Our favorites were the "Goin' Plaid" Scotch Ale and the "Steam Engine Kentucky Common" — both rich, smooth, and full of character! 🍺💛 For starters, the Potato Pancake was far more refined than we expected — topped with lean smoked sausage, diced apple, and a delicate fig jam that balanced savory and sweet beautifully. 🥞🍎 When it came to the mains: My husband ordered the Game Sausage with German Spätzle and Root Vegetables — a hearty, rustic dish packed with flavor 🦌🍂 I had the Spätzle with Chicken, Cheese, and Onion — rolled into balls, breaded, and pan-fried to golden perfection. They looked almost like arancini and were plated with a vibrant arugula-spinach salad featuring quinoa and cherry tomatoes 🥗🍒 The tangy lemon vinaigrette tied everything together without being overly sweet — just perfect! 🌿 For dessert, we tried both the Apple Strudel and the Black Forest Cake — both delicious, but the apple strudel was the clear winner in my heart! 🍎🍰 I’m not German, so I can’t vouch for 100% authenticity, but the experience felt genuine and deeply satisfying. I did notice the next table enjoying margaritas, fish tacos, and Buffalo chicken wraps — so there are definitely non-German options too! I respect that the restaurant aims to stay connected to its roots while also welcoming a broader audience. It’s a place that honors tradition but also knows how to keep people coming back — whether for a special German feast or a casual weeknight dinner. 🥨❤️ A true landmark that offers both locals and visitors something special — don’t miss this gem! #HistoricGem #GermanFood #ChicagoEats #BeerFlight #UpscaleVibes #SpätzleLove
