🏛️ How to Explore Athens in 2 Days — Save Up to €100!

Athens may not have endless attractions, but its routes are straightforward. I’ve planned the itinerary for you — check Figure 2️⃣ for ticket prices and routes! 📈 Day 1: Red route 📉 Day 2: Blue route Short on time? Just follow Day 1. Lots of souvenir shops along the way — perfect for some retail therapy 🛍️! Only 4️⃣ spots are truly must-see: ❶ The Acropolis — Book tickets online in advance and enter at your reserved time. ❷ Acropolis Museum — Also book ahead. Recommend visiting before the Acropolis. ❸ Panathenaic Stadium — Tickets available on-site. ❹ Sunset — Choose either 🏔️ Lycabettus Hill or 🏔️ Philopappos Hill — one is enough. Other sights are optional — many are overpriced and not worth it. ◼️ About the Acropolis 🏛️ Key areas inside: Odeon of Herodes Atticus, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, Erechtheion, Parthenon, Theatre of Dionysus. No need to overplan — just follow the crowd. The scale is similar to Beijing’s Forbidden City — compact and walkable. Best to enter 2 hours before closing. The ruins are mostly open-air — use your imagination (and what you saw in the museum) to visualize the past. ◼️ About the Acropolis Museum 🏢 Go before 10 AM and before visiting the Acropolis. Scan QR codes on-site for audio guides or watch related films beforehand. The museum shows where sculptures, steles, and columns originally stood on the Acropolis — like the Parthenon pediments depicting Athena’s birth and her contest with Poseidon. Totally fascinating! ◼️ About the Stadium 🏟️ Built 2,500 years ago — hosted the first modern Olympics and the 2004 Athens Games. A unique piece of history! Run a lap — that €10 ticket is totally worth it 🏃🏻. ◼️ About the Sunset 🌅 Philopappos Hill: Walkable from the Acropolis. Pass by Socrates’ Prison (free entry). Lycabettus Hill: Further away. Free entry, but funicular costs €10 one-way/€13 round-trip. Or hike up in 20 mins. The viewing platform is small and can get crowded. I recommend Philopappos — cheaper and more convenient. But if you have time, why not both? #Athens #Greece #TravelHacks #BudgetTravel #EuropeTravel #CityWalk #SoloTravel #TravelGuide
