đ¨đŚď˝Study Abroad Studentâs Cruise Day 3
After my last post, I lost internetâfinally reconnected today when we docked, and wow, the engagement blew up! đł Motion sickness? Worth it? Boring? All subjectiveâyouâll only know if you try it yourself. đ Day 3: Ketchikan 7:00 AM â Docked and woke up from the shipâs rocking. Got ready and headed out. Disembarking wasnât crowded, but we had to wait a while for the shuttle. Downtown (DT) had barely any food spots openâeverything starts at 10 AM. Regretted not eating breakfast on the ship. đŠ Ended up at a highly-rated breakfast place (Pic 7), but it was about the same as the shipâs food. The real win? Drinking Coke on land after two days without itâfelt alive again! (Still havenât caved to buying overpriced soda on board.) đ Exploring: Not much to doâsuper tiny town, just walked around and took pics. Felt like a budget version of Switzerland. Watched a lumberjack show (Pic 6). It was okay, not a must-see, but if youâre bored, why not? Freezing todayâdidnât bring a coat, so after the show, we headed back to the ship. đ Day 2: At Sea First night was WINDYâbalcony creaked like crazy, and I thought it was rain hitting the glass. Annoying when trying to sleep. đŹď¸ The ship rocked a lot. Whether itâs enough to make you puke? Depends on your tolerance. For me, it just felt like a light buzz (like one drink in). My roommate used motion sickness patches and was fine. đˇ The whole day = Eat â Sleep â Repeat. Time flew by. Wandered the ship, ate when hungry, napped when tiredâbasically a human pig farm. Hit the casino for a bit and won some money, so mood = improved. đ đ Food Thoughts (Pics 9-15) Pure Chinese taste buds? Youâll struggleâno traditional Chinese food. But if you can handle non-Chinese cuisine, itâs not bad (just my take). My roommate and I loved the meat pies đĽš, and the ice cream was great. Breakfast was standard brunch stuff (toast, eggs, sausage)âate like there was no tomorrow. Desserts werenât crazy sweet, so overall, pretty satisfied. đ Drinks Only one spot on the ship has free water, so we brought our own bottle + a small bag to refill during meals. (The cupâs from GoodLifeâplanning to toss it after the trip.) Next stop: Juneau! Will update later. đ #Cruise #NCL #Alaska #Travel #SlowLiving đ˘đď¸
