🇨🇦|Study Abroad Student’s Cruise Day 3

After my last post, I lost internet—finally reconnected today when we docked, and wow, the engagement blew up! 😳 Motion sickness? Worth it? Boring? All subjective—you’ll only know if you try it yourself. 🌟 Day 3: Ketchikan 7:00 AM – Docked and woke up from the ship’s rocking. Got ready and headed out. Disembarking wasn’t crowded, but we had to wait a while for the shuttle. Downtown (DT) had barely any food spots open—everything starts at 10 AM. Regretted not eating breakfast on the ship. 😩 Ended up at a highly-rated breakfast place (Pic 7), but it was about the same as the ship’s food. The real win? Drinking Coke on land after two days without it—felt alive again! (Still haven’t caved to buying overpriced soda on board.) 🚗 Exploring: Not much to do—super tiny town, just walked around and took pics. Felt like a budget version of Switzerland. Watched a lumberjack show (Pic 6). It was okay, not a must-see, but if you’re bored, why not? Freezing today—didn’t bring a coat, so after the show, we headed back to the ship. 🌟 Day 2: At Sea First night was WINDY—balcony creaked like crazy, and I thought it was rain hitting the glass. Annoying when trying to sleep. 🌬️ The ship rocked a lot. Whether it’s enough to make you puke? Depends on your tolerance. For me, it just felt like a light buzz (like one drink in). My roommate used motion sickness patches and was fine. 🐷 The whole day = Eat → Sleep → Repeat. Time flew by. Wandered the ship, ate when hungry, napped when tired—basically a human pig farm. Hit the casino for a bit and won some money, so mood = improved. 😎 🌟 Food Thoughts (Pics 9-15) Pure Chinese taste buds? You’ll struggle—no traditional Chinese food. But if you can handle non-Chinese cuisine, it’s not bad (just my take). My roommate and I loved the meat pies 🥹, and the ice cream was great. Breakfast was standard brunch stuff (toast, eggs, sausage)—ate like there was no tomorrow. Desserts weren’t crazy sweet, so overall, pretty satisfied. 🌟 Drinks Only one spot on the ship has free water, so we brought our own bottle + a small bag to refill during meals. (The cup’s from GoodLife—planning to toss it after the trip.) Next stop: Juneau! Will update later. 👋 #Cruise #NCL #Alaska #Travel #SlowLiving 🚢🏔️
