๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ A 3-Day, 2-Night Trip to Sudbury

๐Ÿ‡จ๐Ÿ‡ฆ A 3-Day, 2-Night Trip to Sudbury, North of Toronto โžก๏ธ Attractions Taking advantage of the first long weekend after getting vaccinated, I went on a road trip with friends to Sudbury, a city in northern Ontario. The weather forecast had been predicting rain all weekend for the week before the trip, but it only rained for a while on Saturday afternoonโ€”Sunday and Monday were both sunny โ˜€๏ธ. The weather couldnโ€™t have been better! Perfect! First, letโ€™s talk about the attractions we visited: Sightseeing in the Greater Sudbury Area ๐Ÿฅฐ Bell Park Located in the city center, a park along Hermit Bay with many walking trails. Itโ€™s perfect for a post-dinner stroll, with beautiful scenery and even little squirrels ๐Ÿฟ๏ธ. Rating: ๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ–๐ŸŒ‘ ๐Ÿ“ Canadaโ€˜s Largest Mural A small abandoned building with vibrant murals painted on the side facing the road. Youโ€™ll pass it while driving, and you can also see it from Bell Parkโ€”no need to make a separate trip. Great for a quick photo op. See Figure 2โƒฃ๏ธ for a view from Bell Park. Rating: ๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ–๐ŸŒ‘๐ŸŒ‘ ๐Ÿ“ Onaping Falls (including A.Y. Jackson Lookout) A waterfall about 25 minutes from downtown, most famous for the A.Y. Jackson Lookout, named after the renowned Canadian painter from the Group of Seven. The falls trail isnโ€™t long, but starting from A.Y. Jackson Lookout, there are many large boulders. The scenery is stunningโ€”Figure 1โƒฃ๏ธ shows the trail on the way back. Rating: ๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ• Other downtown attractions we didnโ€™t visit: ๐Ÿ“ Big Nickel: A giant five-cent coin, said to weigh several tons. ๐Ÿ“ Art Gallery of Sudbury ๐Ÿ“ Science North ๐Ÿ“ Northern Ontario Railroad Museum: An outdoor museum north of the city. Other natural attractions: ๐Ÿ“ Killarney Provincial Park Sudburyโ€™s most famous provincial park. Its most popular spots are Silver Peak and The Crack, which require boating to access the trails. You can paddle deep into the lake and even camp. Due to time constraints, we only went boating for an afternoon, but it was still a lot of fun! See Figure 4โƒฃ๏ธ. Rating: ๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ• ๐Ÿ“ Manitoulin Island A large island with a strong Indigenous vibe. Rating: ๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ•๐ŸŒ–๐ŸŒ‘ ๐Ÿ“ Killbear Provincial Park Near Parry Sound, itโ€™s perfect for a stop on the way to Sudbury to break up the drive. Many people camp here, and admission is required. #CanadianLife#PerfectLongWeekend#CanadaTravel
