Recently, I had a work trip to the capital, Ottawa 🧳. People always say it’s a culinary desert 🌵✨, but guess what? Hidden gems are waiting to be discovered! Before I forget, let me jot down these amazing finds hehe. ▪️ A Korean Gem First up is a fantastic Korean restaurant, and word on the street is that their Korean fried chicken is legendary! Oh my goodness, when it arrived at the table, it was nothing short of spectacular 🤩. The crispy exterior, perfectly glazed with sauce, and the inside? Unbelievably juicy!! We went for the half-and-half combo (two flavors), and both were absolutely delicious. Every bite was a flavor explosion 🍗. If you’re in Ottawa, this is a must-try! 📍 Table Sodam ▪️ A Vietnamese Delight Next, a local friend couldn’t stop raving about this Vietnamese restaurant, and now I see why! If you get the chance, you have to try their shrimp spring rolls (p5) 🍤. I’m pretty sure they make the filling in-house—finely minced shrimp, wrapped in a spring roll wrapper fried to golden perfection. That first crunchy bite? Pure magic ✨! I’m usually not a huge spring roll fan, but we ended up ordering two extra servings that night. And while it’s known for pho, their grilled beef rice dish is also incredible. I went for the Grilled 3A Beef Ribeye on Rice, and it did not disappoint. Tender, flavorful, and so satisfying 🥩. 📍 Authentic Vietnamese Pho House (Note: This seems to be a chain—we visited the Kanata location.) Both spots left such a strong impression that I’m already planning my next visit 😍. Ottawa might not be the first place that comes to mind for food adventures, but trust me, these two restaurants are worth the trip!
