🇵🇪 Tanta Peruvian Restaurant | Chicago Food Adventure

A must-visit spot for Peruvian cuisine in Chicago! 🍽️✨ Located downtown with plenty of street parking nearby — 2 hours for $10, or you can opt for a $10 parking lot. We ordered a TON for two people 😅 — mostly based on recommendations from foodie reviews. The menu had been updated, so many dish names were hard to find. Pro tip: just show the server photos 📱, and they’ll know exactly what you want! She also recommended a delicious aperitif. 🍸 1️⃣ Garden Salad ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Originally drawn by its look (though plating has changed!), this dish had mashed potato and avocado base, beet-marinated quinoa, radish, and a crispy veggie (maybe dried bamboo shoots?). Sweet, sour, salty, spicy — super refreshing and appetizing! 2️⃣ Quail Egg & Wagyu Sushi ⭐️⭐️ 3️⃣ Tuna Sushi ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The tuna melted at the touch — incredible texture. The wagyu was a bit tough, though. 4️⃣ Octopus Leg with Taro Purée ⭐️⭐️ Ordered later in the meal; maybe from the last kitchen batch. Octopus was tender, but the surface was overly salty-bitter. Needed the taro mash to balance it out. 5️⃣ Peruvian Roasted Chicken Combo ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Juicy and tender — way better than expected! Definitely recommend. 6️⃣ Grilled Beef Heart ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A must-try! We got it medium-well (still tender with a nice chew). For softer texture, go medium-rare. 7️⃣ Stone Pot Rice (like Peruvian-Bibimbap) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ A fusion take on Korean bibimbap — moist, flavorful rice mixed tableside by the server. We went all out to try everything and still had chicken and rice leftover (and yes, we’re big eaters 😂). Total with tip: $220 For a normal visit, you can keep it around $70–80 per person. #ChicagoEats #PeruvianFood #TantaChicago #ChicagoFoodie #DowntownDining #FoodReview
