Chicago might not be the first choice for many traveling to the U.S.—it’s a four-hour flight from the West Coast and over two from New York, standing as the only major city amid endless cornfields. 🌽✈️ But wow, is it worth it! Chicago’s urban planning is brilliant. Art museums, Lake Michigan, the Silver Bean (Cloud Gate), and architecture boat tours are all within walking distance. If you enjoy walking, you can explore almost everything on foot. 🚶‍♀️🏙️ 🛍️ Shopping here is simply the best. The Magnificent Mile and its surroundings are packed with malls and boutiques, offering everything from everyday brands to top luxury—I could spend all day exploring and never get tired! 🎨 The Silver Bean and the Art Institute are located very close to each other. The art museum is filled with masterpieces by Monet, Van Gogh, and more—art lovers can easily spend a whole day immersed here. 🖼️🧑‍🎨 🚇 I took both the subway and buses here. As long as you avoid going out after dark and steer clear of the South Side, staying in tourist areas feels very safe. Must-visit spots & experiences: ✨ The Chicago Theatre – an iconic landmark ✨ Cloud Gate (The Bean) – a must-see sculpture ✨ Architecture Boat Tour – stunning riverside architecture (highly recommended!) ✨ 360 Chicago Observation Deck – breathtaking city night views & daytime vistas of Lake Michigan.
