🇺🇸 Chicago 🌹 Valentine's Day Dinner at Michael Jordan's Steakhouse

Located inside the InterContinental Hotel at the south end of the Magnificent Mile. 🌟 Valentine's 2020 coincided with NBA All-Star Weekend — the hotel was full of tall, strong basketball players. During our meal, some even took photos with the couple next to us — the man was super tall, the woman wore a glittery hot pink bodycon dress. Definitely looked like big shots (though I don’t know basketball enough to recognize them 😅). 🌟 We had a reservation for 10:30 PM — the only slot available. But it was bitterly cold (1°F!) — after walking around a bit, we gave up and showed up around 8:30 PM. We only meant to ask if we could store our bags, but the host asked if we wanted to be seated early — so we ended up eating two hours ahead of time! 🌟 Service at fine dining spots like this is always top-tier — and so are the tips (20%+). It hurts the wallet, but they really earn it 💸. 1️⃣ Shrimp Cocktail 🍤 – Solid starter, but not as good as the ones we had in Orlando (seafood is just easier there!). 8/10 2️⃣ Crab Cake 🦀 – Tasty, but texture felt more fish-like… not sure how much real crab was in there. 8/10 3️⃣ T-Bone Steak 🥩 – We went for the T-bone so we could share and try two cuts (sirloin + filet mignon). Absolutely amazing! You can even add lobster 🦞 to the steak — interesting option. 10/10 4️⃣ Mashed Potatoes Set 🥣 – A trio of: mashed potatoes, sweet potato mash, and bacon potato mash. The sweet potato mash was INSANELY good 😋 The bacon one wasn’t for me though. 10/10 5️⃣ Roasted Mushrooms 🍄 – A classic steak side — adds nice earthy flavor. 6️⃣ Dessert – Chocolate Lava Cake 🍫🌋🍰 – Not on the menu — they made it specially for Valentine’s! Topped with vanilla ice cream that melted fast over the hot chocolate lava (looked like a fried egg in the photo 😂). This was my #1 dessert of 2020 — I still dream about it! 10/10 Highly recommend this place! If you’re staying at the InterContinental, you don’t even have to go outside — perfect for a cozy dinner and straight to bed.
