πΊπΈ Chicago Food Diary π² | Clear Beef Bone Soup & Roasted Sweet Pota
A small eatery hidden inside a Korean supermarket β always felt Chicago was a bit of a desert for authentic Korean food, but this bowl of warm galbitang totally hit the spot! The menu is surprisingly varied and can honestly be a bit overwhelming π We ordered two bowls of No. 32 Galbi Tang (Beef Short Rib Soup): The moment it arrived, we were stunned by the portion β almost four large beef ribs in each bowl, plus some clear noodles! πβ¨ White pepper and salt are provided on the table for seasoning. Comes with three types of banchan (side dishes) as well ~ A heads up: The Korean auntie running the place works at her own pace β she usually prepares one order at a time, so it can take about 10 minutes before she takes the next order. A little wait, but worth it! Right inside the supermarket, thereβs also a stall selling roasted sweet potatoes ππ They were incredibly sweet, soft, and sticky β reminded me of chestnut sweet potatoes back home! Even a foreigner waiting in line told us he buys these sweet potatoes every time he comes here! π Joong Boo Market 3333 N Kimball Ave, Chicago, IL 60618 #ChicagoLife #ChicagoEats #KoreanFood #ComfortFood #Galbitang #WinterWarmers
