๐บ๐ธ Chicago Solo Travel Plog๏ฝEnjoying My Me-Time in the Windy City
Finally stole a day between work trips to explore Chicago on foot! This time I stayed around River North and got around easily with a $5 bus day pass ๐๐ซ ๐๏ธ Magnificent Mile Home to the largest Starbucks Reserve in the US โ, plus a new Harry Potter store! ๐งโโ๏ธ Lots of clothing shops and close to river tours and museums โ great area to wander. ๐จ Museum of Contemporary Art Took about 40 mins to explore. Small but fun exhibits + photo-friendly stairs! ๐ธโจ ๐๏ธ Museum of Contemporary Photography Perfect for photography lovers โ can be done in 30 mins ๐ท ๐ฅ๏ธ Lake & River Architecture Tour Booked the 90-min Wendella tour ($45) through Viator. Not crowded โ could move freely on the deck for 360ยฐ views ๐๏ธ๐ The guide was entertaining and informative! Pro tip: Groupon sometimes has $20 tickets. Book early โ sunset slots sell out! ๐ด Places to Eat: RPM Italian ๐ Authentic Italian โ even my Napoli Uber driver approved! Loved the crab squid ink pasta (handmade, al dente ๐) Their Brussels sprouts are still on my mindโฆ so good! Saigon Sisters ๐ฒ Not in the Loop โ the owner said his Vietnamese wife is the chef. Got the signature beef bone pho โ a bit dry and slightly bitter. Just ok. Thai tea = $43 (with forced 20% tip ๐ธ) Nutella Cafรฉ ๐ฅ Yes, Nutella has a cafe! The crepe was super sweet (very American ๐ ) but nostalgic. Best with coffee or fruit. ๐งฅ Solo travel tip: Chicago can be windy โ bring a jacket! #ChicagoTravel #SoloTravel #TravelDiary #MuseumHopping #ChicagoFood #ExploreChicago #TravelPlog
