πΊπΈ Chicago Solo Travel Plogο½Enjoying My Me-Time in the Windy City
Finally stole a day between work trips to explore Chicago on foot! This time I stayed around River North and got around easily with a $5 bus day pass ππ« ποΈ Magnificent Mile Home to the largest Starbucks Reserve in the US β, plus a new Harry Potter store! π§ββοΈ Lots of clothing shops and close to river tours and museums β great area to wander. π¨ Museum of Contemporary Art Took about 40 mins to explore. Small but fun exhibits + photo-friendly stairs! πΈβ¨ ποΈ Museum of Contemporary Photography Perfect for photography lovers β can be done in 30 mins π· π₯οΈ Lake & River Architecture Tour Booked the 90-min Wendella tour ($45) through Viator. Not crowded β could move freely on the deck for 360Β° views ποΈπ The guide was entertaining and informative! Pro tip: Groupon sometimes has $20 tickets. Book early β sunset slots sell out! π΄ Places to Eat: RPM Italian π Authentic Italian β even my Napoli Uber driver approved! Loved the crab squid ink pasta (handmade, al dente π) Their Brussels sprouts are still on my mindβ¦ so good! Saigon Sisters π² Not in the Loop β the owner said his Vietnamese wife is the chef. Got the signature beef bone pho β a bit dry and slightly bitter. Just ok. Thai tea = $43 (with forced 20% tip πΈ) Nutella CafΓ© π₯ Yes, Nutella has a cafe! The crepe was super sweet (very American π ) but nostalgic. Best with coffee or fruit. π§₯ Solo travel tip: Chicago can be windy β bring a jacket! #ChicagoTravel #SoloTravel #TravelDiary #MuseumHopping #ChicagoFood #ExploreChicago #TravelPlog
