Johnson‘s Farm 8960 E Ridge Rd, Hobart, IN 46342 Took a trip to this lovely farm over Labor Day weekend — just a 45-minute drive from downtown Chicago 🚗💨 They were hosting a Watermelon Festival from Aug 30 to Sep 1 🍉🎉 which made it even more fun! 🎟️ Entry ticket: $15 per person At the entrance, there’s a cute apple-throwing game for kids 🎯 (extra ~$5 for 6 apples) — plus lots of other kid-friendly activities! 🚜 Inside, you can hop on a tractor ride to the U-Pick fields. There are 3 stops: 1️⃣ Sunflower Field 🌻 Beautiful, less crowded blooms $3 for one flower / $5 for three (scissors provided!) 2️⃣ Vegetable Field 🍆🫑🌶️ Pick tomatoes (red & green), peppers, banana peppers, bell peppers, and giant colorful cauliflowers 🥦 We grabbed a huge white one and a deep purple one — so fresh! Also adorable round purple eggplants! 3️⃣ Melon Patch 🍉🍈 Yellow and red watermelons — the yellow ones are super sweet!
