🇺🇸 Leavenworth, USA 🏔️
Located 193 km from Seattle, Leavenworth is a charming town entirely designed in Bavarian German architectural style. Strolling through the streets, you’ll be surrounded by European-style buildings adorned with beautifully painted murals and intricate details. 🏘️🎨 Originally a logging and railroad town, Leavenworth faced economic decline after the railway relocated in the 1920s. In 1962, a local committee collaborated with experts to revitalize the community. Inspired by its resemblance to alpine villages in Bavaria, Germany, they transformed the town with Bavarian-themed architecture and culture. The makeover was a huge success, attracting tourists year-round. ❄️⛷️ In winter, it becomes a popular skiing destination, while summer offers various water activities. The Christmas season is especially magical—hotels and restaurants are fully booked! 🎄✨ 🚗 How to Get There: From Seattle, take I-5 N and then US-2 E. The scenic drive takes about 2-3 hours. 🛏️ Hotel Recommendation: Enzian Inn The town offers a range of accommodations to suit different preferences. We stayed at Enzian Inn, located in a quiet area just a few minutes’ walk from the bustling main street. 🏊 The hotel features an outdoor pool and even offers complimentary mini-golf for guests—where you might spot wild deer or raccoons! 🦌🦝 🍳 Their breakfast buffet was delicious, especially the made-to-order omelets. A fun bonus: live trombone music during breakfast! 🎶 🍽️ Food Recommendation: Sulla Vita Leavenworth is known for authentic German beer, sausages, and pork knuckle. Most restaurants are packed—we tried Sulla Vita and loved their pizza and seafood dishes. 🍕🍻 The German beer was great too! 👦 What stood out during our meal was the owner’s son (around 11-13 years old) diligently helping clear tables throughout the evening. 👏 #USRoadTrip #Leavenworth #USA #UnforgettableTrip #Seattle #WashingtonState
