Food was pretty good but our server Chris was inappropriate and mean to my friend. First incident was, after we had been seated we weren't assigned a waiter and waited 25min until we had to notify the bar that no one had come over to our table. Secondly, after ordering our food my friend wanted her dessert to come out with her meal. Our server, Chris, did not fill this request and only brought her dessert and did not check in with us about her meal. He then proceeded to bring her meal to us after we got up again to find someone else and ask them about my friend's meal. When Chris brought the meal our entire table had already finished eating and we tried to eat slow but our food was getting cold. He proceeded to mock my friend about having her dessert first. She was mortified not only because he mocked her but now she was the only person eating at the table. Finally, my friend had only eaten 1/4 of her plate when Chris came back and asked if she needed to box her food. I had to console her in the bathroom because she was in tears, she does not do well with public ridicule and I don't think most people do either. I rarely tip below 20% or leave bad reviews on any establishment but this was crossing the line for me. I don't want this happening to anyone else. There are plenty of people out there who are uncomfortable with this kind of confrontation and I hope the staff at this place will gain more empathy even if they are having a...
Read moreSulla Vita is on the beating path in Leavenworth, which is positive, it's side by side is next to a pub with lots of people sitting outside enjoying libations, which at first glance may be a detourant for Sulla Vita because the pub outdoor seating is full and SV had none, but it's apples and oranges. The Sulla Vita menu is minimal and served tapas style. Latte is served in cappachino cup, mineral water in the perfect size. Gorgenzola stuffed dates are delicious! "Brussels" on the menu are not Brussel sprouts themselves, it's chopped/sliced Brussels served slaw style, this dish was a huge disappointment, bitter and in no way positive. The flank steak with gorgenzola sauce was cooked to perfection, served over asparagus and worthy of erasing the taste and ALMOST memory of the afore mentioned dish. You will not be stuffed from the quantity of any portion, especially if going tapas style and sharing. Service is, hmmmm, well, we'll go with European style, which is minimal and if looking for conversation with friends, is positive. Unsure if it was the chef that was the most attentive, but the hostess, water provider and so on, regaled us with three words, at most, pleasant but appeared instructed (or possibly just doesn't speak much) to be seen but not heard. Overall, Sulla Vita is a recommendation, dreams of the flank steak will remain in delicious memories for...
Read moreGreat experience at Silla Villa. This review is for a visit on a Wednesday at 6 pm. Upon arrival We found the staff to be friendly and they seated us right away. Initially we sat inside, but changed our minds and asked to sit outside as the sun hand finally come out.
I'd discribe Sulla Villa as a tapas style pizzeria. Typically you order a few tapas dishes for sharing based on the numbers at your table then the pizza which is about 11 inches and not exactly round.
Our 2 tapas dishes were great and just right for sharing for 2. Our pizza arrived shortly after and was just as fantastic. Everything tasted fresh and delicious and the portion size was just right.
Our server (Jessie?) was also fantastic, freindly and professional. We found the price to be reasonable for two.
Our only observation was that our tapas (calamarie) came with only 3 pieces of fresh cut bread (1 inch by 1 inch), which they seem to bake right there. We asked for more bread and got one extra peice! We feel by serving a bread basket with butter - with the pitcher of water they serve upon seating, Sulla Villa can greatly enhance the dinning experience for all guests.
In all, recommend a visit, you won't be...
