🇺🇸 Monterey & Carmel Day Trip|Smooth & Efficient Itinerary
A few weeks ago, I took my parents on a weekend trip to two classic Highway 1 destinations: Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea. Although I’ve been here several times, my parents loved the itinerary I planned 😊. Here’s a smooth one-day guide perfect for road trippers or a weekend getaway from the Bay — follow this order for a hassle-free tour: Monterey Bay Aquarium 🐠 (Morning) The jellyfish exhibit on the second floor is stunning! The tanks feel natural and immersive, and there’s an interactive zone great for kids. 🎟️ Tickets: $65 on, but only ~$20 on Taobao! 🅿️ Parking: Park at Andronico's Community Markets — buy a water or snack and walk 3-5 min to the aquarium. Street parking near the aquarium is very limited. Schooners Monterey 🍽️ (Lunch) A fusion Italian-American restaurant with incredible ocean views 🌊. The seafood tower looks Instagram-worthy! Plan B: Head to Old Fisherman’s Wharf for classic seafood — and you might spot seals sunbathing 😎. 17-Mile Drive 🚗 (Afternoon) A gorgeous coastal drive with breathtaking views. Entry is ~$10 per car. Check the map (last image) for stop points — restrooms are available near Bird Rock 🦅. Carmel Sunset Beach 🏖️ (Late Afternoon) Exit 17-Mile Drive directly onto Carmel Beach. There’s public parking nearby — wait a bit and you’ll find a spot. After the beach, walk uphill away from the ocean to explore downtown Carmel — full of charming architecture, boutiques, and cafes 🏡✨. Portabella 🍝 (Dinner) One of Carmel’s most famous Italian restaurants! Must-try: Seafood Pasta — handmade noodles in a rich, delicious sauce. Truffle Risotto was just okay (tastes similar to my company cafeteria’s 😂). Skip the Lobster Ravioli — we all found it disappointing. ⚠️ Make a reservation early in the day — they only take reservations and fill up fast! That’s a wrap! Hope this helps — likes and saves are appreciated 🙏❤️. #Highway1 #Monterey #CarmelByTheSea #WeekendGetaway
