πΊπΈ Monterey Fish House Review
Stayed overnight in Monterey during our Highway 1 road trip and found this super popular local seafood spot! πποΈ Had to wait about 30 minutes β but it was worth it π They offer daily specials featuring seafood caught by the owner himself π£. The walls are covered with photos of the owner and his big catches β so fun! π€£ π¦ͺ Oysters on the Half Shell - $17 π7/10 Fresh but not exceptionally plump. Pretty standard β order these only if you really love raw oysters. π₯ Oak Grilled Oyster - $18 π7.5/10 Recommended by the sweet white grandma next to us π΅π. Buttery with mild garlic flavor β interesting for non-Asian diners, but might not wow those familiar with bold garlic grilled oysters like in Chinese cooking. π² New England Clam Chowder - $7 π7.5/10 Warm, comforting, and loaded with clams β perfect after days of cold sandwiches and salads! Nothing extraordinary, but really hits the spot on a chilly day. π Scallop Pasta - Market Price π8/10 The star of the meal! β¨ Scallops were freshly caught by the owner β firm and chewy, nothing like frozen ones. Served in a creamy seafood sauce with thick, al dente pasta. Highly recommend! π Clam Pasta - $25 π7.5/10 Light and savory broth with tender clams (grit-free!). Pasta was perfectly cooked. Simple but satisfying. π¦ Fried Calamari - $19 π7.5/10 Crispy and tasty β solid choice if youβre in the mood. π₯ Classic Caesar Salad - $12 π7/10 Fresh and classic β good if you want something green. π Ambience π8/10: Busy and lively β a bit cramped but great for groups π. π Service π8/10: Sat at the bar β our server was friendly and chatted with us π». β Final Thoughts: Not mind-blowing, but fresh and full of character! π If youβre passing through Monterey and want a reliable seafood meal, give it a try! π 2114 Del Monte Ave, Monterey, CA 93940 #Monterey #MontereyFood #Highway1 #SeafoodLover #FoodReview #CaliforniaCoast
