🇺🇸 Must-Try Thai Restaurant in DC: Baan Siam

📍 425 I St NW, Washington, DC 20001 Remember to make a reservation in advance—it’s super popular! We went around 1-2 PM (already pretty late) and walked in directly 🚶‍♀️ (so try to avoid peak dining hours). The good thing is it’s right downtown—no need to travel far. The main dishes were pretty good, but they’re really spicy 🌶️. If you can’t handle any spice, choose carefully! 🫕 Coconut Soup Similar to Tom Yum—also sour with a coconut fragrance. Okay to skip if you’re not super into it. 🍛 Crispy Pork Belly Rice So delicious!! And the fried rice was especially fragrant—even better than the meat! Highly recommend this one. Must-order! 😋 🍝 Thai Vermicelli in Chili Peanut Sauce Mixed noodles—just okay in my opinion. 🥣 Forgot the name of the curry rice in the top right of —you can ask the server. Rice is served separately. This was the spiciest but also the most satisfying with rice—my friends ordered two portions that day and devoured it! 🍚🔥 🍢 Grilled Pork Skewers Tender, but nothing special compared to the other dishes. 🍤 Lotus Shrimp Salad Sweet and sour flavor—pretty interesting. Appetizer portions are small, so it’s worth a try. 🍧 Coconut Ice Cream Vanilla coconut ice cream can never go wrong! Served in a coconut shell 🥥, but the shell seems like a veteran (lol)—just eat the ice cream. The coconut meat isn’t tasty (but it’s fun for those who can’t resist picking at every bit of coconut flesh 😂). 🧋 Thai Iced Tea Just okay—the least smooth Thai tea I’ve had among all the Thai restaurants I’ve tried. Not about sweetness—just feels a bit rough? (You know what I mean… sorry!) #ThaiFood #RestaurantRecommendation #HiddenGem #WashingtonDC #DCFood #DCTravel #FoodieAdventure 🍽️✨
