๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ Washington, D.C. โ€“ The Best U.S. City for Solo Travel! ๐ŸŽ’โœจ

Washington, D.C. might just be the most solo-travel-friendly city in the United States! โœ… Public transportation is convenient โœ… Attractions are densely concentrated and mostly FREE โœ… Itโ€™s one of the safest cities (thanks to Secret Service-level security ๐Ÿ˜) โ€“ I actually felt comfortable setting up my tripod for selfies here! In other cities, Iโ€™d worry about my camera disappearing in a blink ๐Ÿ˜’. One interesting thing: Despite recreational cannabis being legal here (yes, there are even Chinese-language dispensaries ๐Ÿƒ), compared to the aggressive homeless people, subway entertainers, immigrants, refugees, gang violence, and occasional gunfire โ€“ smoking weed feels almost friendly and safe here. ๐Ÿ“Œ Practical Tips: 1๏ธโƒฃ Safest city in the U.S., hands down ๐Ÿš“ You can walk around at 11 PMโ€“12 AM, and there might be more police officers than tourists! 2๏ธโƒฃ Public transport is great, but attractions are so close that if you stay near downtown, you can easily explore on foot ๐Ÿšถโ€โ™€๏ธ. 3๏ธโƒฃ My favorite spot: The U.S. Capitol ๐Ÿ›๏ธ It looks amazing both day and night! Here are two photo locations I recommend: ๐Ÿ“ Union Square (Google Maps) โ€“ Enter the park and walk to the lakeside. ๐Ÿ“ 3rd St & Pennsylvania Ave bus stop โ€“ The crosswalk and bike lane here make for great shots. 4๏ธโƒฃ The White House is under renovation (as of Nov 24, 2024) ๐Ÿšง โ€“ Not even the exterior is visible. Skip it for now! 5๏ธโƒฃ National Gallery of Art ๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ โ€“ FREE entry! Mostly modern art and currently featuring photography exhibitions. Highly recommended! 6๏ธโƒฃ Suggested route: Start at either the Washington Monument or the Capitol Building โ€“ theyโ€™re aligned horizontally with museums in between. Walk one way, and youโ€™ll cover most highlights in a day! 7๏ธโƒฃ Fun stop: FBI Headquarters ๐Ÿ•ต๏ธโ™‚๏ธ โ€“ Yes, the famous "FBI! Open the door!" building from movies. Great for a quirky photo op! 8๏ธโƒฃ Airport transportation: Just go to Metro Center Station โ€“ direct trains to both airports ๐Ÿš‡. A one-way trip costs only $4.50 (cheap compared to other cities!), and trains run until midnight! 9๏ธโƒฃ Note: The "Presidentโ€™s Mountain" (Mount Rushmore) is NOT the same as "Capitol Hill." ๐Ÿ—ฟ Mount Rushmore is in the Midwest. โ›ฐ๏ธ Capitol Hill refers to the U.S. Capitol, Senate, and Supreme Court โ€“ right here in D.C.! #USA #WashingtonDC #SoloTravel #TravelTips #USATravel #DCAttractions #FreeMuseums #SafeTravel ๐Ÿ›๏ธ๐ŸŒธ
