🇺🇸 Washington, D.C. – The Best U.S. City for Solo Travel! 🎒✨

Washington, D.C. might just be the most solo-travel-friendly city in the United States! ✅ Public transportation is convenient ✅ Attractions are densely concentrated and mostly FREE ✅ It’s one of the safest cities (thanks to Secret Service-level security 😏) – I actually felt comfortable setting up my tripod for selfies here! In other cities, I’d worry about my camera disappearing in a blink 😒. One interesting thing: Despite recreational cannabis being legal here (yes, there are even Chinese-language dispensaries 🍃), compared to the aggressive homeless people, subway entertainers, immigrants, refugees, gang violence, and occasional gunfire – smoking weed feels almost friendly and safe here. 📌 Practical Tips: 1️⃣ Safest city in the U.S., hands down 🚓 You can walk around at 11 PM–12 AM, and there might be more police officers than tourists! 2️⃣ Public transport is great, but attractions are so close that if you stay near downtown, you can easily explore on foot 🚶‍♀️. 3️⃣ My favorite spot: The U.S. Capitol 🏛️ It looks amazing both day and night! Here are two photo locations I recommend: 📍 Union Square (Google Maps) – Enter the park and walk to the lakeside. 📍 3rd St & Pennsylvania Ave bus stop – The crosswalk and bike lane here make for great shots. 4️⃣ The White House is under renovation (as of Nov 24, 2024) 🚧 – Not even the exterior is visible. Skip it for now! 5️⃣ National Gallery of Art 🖼️ – FREE entry! Mostly modern art and currently featuring photography exhibitions. Highly recommended! 6️⃣ Suggested route: Start at either the Washington Monument or the Capitol Building – they’re aligned horizontally with museums in between. Walk one way, and you’ll cover most highlights in a day! 7️⃣ Fun stop: FBI Headquarters 🕵️♂️ – Yes, the famous "FBI! Open the door!" building from movies. Great for a quirky photo op! 8️⃣ Airport transportation: Just go to Metro Center Station – direct trains to both airports 🚇.
