Did the Hoover Building tour. The FBI refers to the tour as "The FBI Experience" (whichever marketing guru came up with that name should earn less). It was an interesting tour and on par with other DC area tours of Federal buildings.
Few drawbacks to the tour; 1) They now schedule these in the same way they schedule White House tours. In otherwords, you're theoretically meant to go to your member of Congress to get an appointment. In addition, the FBI will do a "background" check on you before letting you in the building. Frankly, all the hoops you have to jump through seem grossly excessive for what is basically just a run-of-the-mill guided museum tour. I think a while back this tour was open to the general public and if I had my way, it would be that way again. 2) I was struck by the emphasis on weaponary in this tour. About 1/3 of the tour is about guns. It covers the kind of guns the bad guys are using. The kind of guns the good guys are using. How FBI recruits learn to use guns, etc etc. I'm not sure if the heavy emphasis on weaponry reflects a real cultural part of the FBI or if it's just something they do for the tour because they think it will appeal to the public. One way or another I thought it was excessive. While all the gun talk may appeal to some Americans, this part of the tour would probably detract foreign visitors from areas that might not have the same gun culture we have. 3) As part of the tour, they ask you to play this odd iPad-based FBI investigation game app. The game is a little silly and not terribly well developed. It wasn't aweful, but didn't meaningfully add to the tour.
Couple positives; 1) The tour is hosted by real retired FBI agents. Terry and Tom who did our tour were super knowledgeable and very personable. They were eager to answer questions and interact with folks on the tour. They clearly had a great depth of knowledge about the FBI and could answer technical and nuanced questions in an authoritative way. 2) The tour is "well-sized" in terms of the amount of content it presents to folks. My group went through in 2 hours, but we were rushing b/c it was the end of the day. The tour could easily occupy 3 hours, which I think is an ideal period of time for these...
Read moreI have been dealing with cyber attacks for the past 6 months upon all my accounts associated with my internet. I have had an ex girlfriend try to upload naked picture of me publicly on my Facebook account, passwords changed frequently in which I'm unaware of, (does not even post on my email) changed every single password, went through the process of sending an online report with no avail, as well as being hung up on and being neglected. I am trying to identify a serious matter in which the Federal Bureau of Investigations allegedly does not care about. Today my password to my phone and voicemail changed as well. I cannot even fathom the horrendous service a Untied States citizen would receive from dignified people in which lack human empathy. This has grown to be morally unjustifiable, especially under the grounds of the alleged highest form of intelligence under the CIA which has enough to do. It is the FBI's job and sole purpose to handle these matters in which they avoid. I am speechless and ashamed of this reoccurrence. Please help your American citizens or leave your position you...
Read moreFBI Headquarters J. Edgar Hoover. This is an old building located in 935 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington DC. It is the headquarters of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) since 1975. This Headquarters is a favorite place for tourists while visiting Washington DC as all people see this place in the movies and heard a lot of stories about FBI activities and their agents on the field.
This building opens a tour to go inside the building and look around and gathered in the auditorium to hear the host introducing the FBI and their activities and their job. The host tells us about the procedures in handling suspected criminals, what kind of bullet they used on operations, about recruitment to be FBI agents, etc.
On that tour, we also see the office activities, forensic and ballistic lab, training room, library, and other facilities.
At the end of the tour forget not to drop a while at the souvenir shop, you can buy Hat and t-shirt with a logo of the FBI, mugs, key chain and much other interesting stuff you can buy. What a nice experience...
