๐บ๐ธ Washington D.C. Power Walk Itinerary
Capitol Building โ Library of Congress โ National Air and Space Museum โ Washington Monument โ White House Took an early train from New York at 9 AM, returned at 5 PM โ an exhausting but efficient whirlwind tour! All attractions are along one straightforward route. 1๏ธโฃ U.S. Capitol Building No reservation needed โ just joined the walk-in line. Lots of school groups, but it moved quickly (entered in <30 mins). The free guided tour was engaging and informative. Had lunch at the Capitol cafeteria: avoid the top-left dessert โ itโs a rock-hard white chocolate & cream trap ๐ง๐ฌ 2๏ธโฃ Library of Congress (DO NOT MISS!) Booked a free timed entry online the night before. Thereโs a direct tunnel from the Capitol โ no extra security check! ๐คฏ The most stunning building in D.C. โ feels like stepping into Renaissance Italy. The upper level overlooks the main reading room โ that classic photo spot! Studying here would be a dream. ๐โจ 3๏ธโฃ National Air and Space Museum Booked free tickets in advance (walk-ins available but often full). So many actual planes and spacecraft! ๐ Loved seeing the Wright brothersโ flyer and the Apollo 10 module. Could easily spend hours here โ I just hit the highlights. 4๏ธโฃ Washington Monument Pure iconic moment. Very open area โ zero shade ๐ฅต but great views from afar (you can see it from the Capitol!). 5๏ธโฃ White House So white. So presidential. So many tourists clinging to the fence like itโs a VIP concert ๐ช๐ Each spot is about a 20-min walk from the last. Bring water + sunscreen โ the heat is no joke! The Smithsonian museums are clustered together โ you could spend days here, but I picked just one for this trip. On the train back, everyoneโs phones blasted a hurricane alert out of nowhere ๐ช๏ธโฆ classic unpredictable U.S. weather! #WashingtonDC #WhiteHouse #CapitolBuilding #USCurrency
