๐บ๐ธ What I Ate in Washington DC
My time in DC was short, but I still managed to check out 4 restaurants! Here are my overall impressions โ for detailed food reviews, check the pics ๐ธโจ. Below are more general thoughts on the vibe and experience ๐ฝ๏ธ: 1๏ธโฃ Ornnit ๐๐๐๐๐ Loved the creativity and flavors here! I ordered three dishes based on recommendations, and none disappointed ๐. Their menu has so many interesting options โ Iโll definitely be back next time Iโm in DC! 2๏ธโฃ BAAN SIAM ๐๐๐๐ This was the #1 ranked restaurant near our hotel in DC Downtown. The space is big and beautifully designed, with both a bar and dining area. The fried rice I ordered was just okay, but the Tom Yum noodle soup had an authentic Thai kick! ๐๐ถ๏ธ 3๏ธโฃ Yechon ๐๐๐ A Korean restaurant thatโs pretty popular. Maybe my expectations were too high, but the food didnโt blow me away โ it was decent but not memorable. Would be a good spot for something warm on a cold day! They also serve Korean BBQ. ๐ฅข๐ 4๏ธโฃ Wasai ๐ In DCโs Chinatown. I was craving something soupy for breakfast, but most places open at 10 AM were serving burgers ๐โฆ didnโt want anything too heavy so we chose this one. Turns out itโs pretty much all pre-made food ๐ . You order on a machine, and literally before I even sat down, my beef noodle soup was already served โ impressive speed, I guess? ๐ The soup dumplings (xiaolongbao) were steamed fresh and actually pretty good, but way overpriced. Left feeling like I overpaid for what it was ๐ธ๐. People say DC is a food desert, but there are actually plenty of spots I still want to try! This trip was just too packed. Next time, Iโll explore more of what this city has to offer ๐๏ธ๐ด. #LifeInNorthAmerica #WashingtonDC #DCFood #TorontoLife #DMVEats #DCTravel #DMVFoodFun #AmericanCuisine #Arlington #DMVFoodDiscovery
