๐ฆ CUBA LiBRE RESTAURANT & RUM BAR Cuban cuisine โ their paella is loaded with seafood! The chicken wings were also tasty ๐ There was one dish (forgot the name) that said had coconut milk โ sounded good, but honestly I could barely taste any sweetness. The flavor was justโฆ weird ๐ฃ ๐ฆ Founding Farmers American classics โ tried the famous chicken & waffles. The fried chicken was SUPER crispy! ๐โจ But the sides were just okayโฆ not a fan of waffles drowned in butter ๐ Highly recommend the cornbread though โ slightly crispy edges, and the natural sweetness of cornmeal and whole kernels inside ๐ฅฐ ๐ฆ Yardbird Table & Bar More American fare โ the burrata and tomato salad was fantastic with a mix of yellow and red tomatoes ๐ ๐คฉ Also ordered the crab cake I missed at Founding Farmers โ seared perfectly and so convenient without having to shell crabs myself! Sadly, it was a bit too salty and fishy ๐ฅน ๐ฆ Brasserie Libertรฉ French bistro ๐ฅ Onion soup โ the onions were soft but not sweet, the broth was oversalted, and the cheese on top felt disconnected from the soupโฆ didnโt get it ๐ Garlic-butter escargot โ packed with basil and garlic aroma! Perfect with bread, but a bit salty on its own ๐ DUCK CONFIT โ highly recommended! Crispy skin, tender meat, well-seasoned and not gamey at all. Paired with a slightly sweet fruit jam โ amazing! (The rice on the side was meh though ๐ฌ) Lemon tart โ pretty standard alone, but with fresh fruit, sweet cream, berry sauce, and a wine-based reductionโฆ it became complex and delicious! ๐๐๐ฅฐ ๐ฆ The Capital Burger Our last meal โ a classic American burger joint ๐ Solid and satisfying. Nothing crazy, but reliably good ๐ #WashingtonDC #USTravel #Christmas #TravelGuide #Foodie #CubanFood #AmericanFood #FrenchCuisine
