16th-Century Military Fortress
馃挕The strategic location of this 16th-century military fortress is remarkable鈥攊t stands guard at the narrow channel connecting the Condado Lagoon to the open sea, forming a defensive triangle with the distant Castillo San Crist贸bal. 馃寘Walking from the Hilton hotel lobby toward the beach, past the pool area and down a stone staircase, we suddenly discovered this stone fortress hidden behind a grove of palm trees. 馃殺Fort铆n de San Jer贸nimo del Boquer贸n is situated on a coral islet and forms part of San Juan's defensive network. Nestled near the Caribe Hilton hotel, it offers beautiful coastal views and a striking city backdrop. 馃尭Well worth a visit, it's a pleasant walk through this historic Spanish-built fortress. The location is excellent, allowing visitors to learn about the fortress's strategic importance and transport themselves back in time. 馃挦The side chapel under renovation was covered with canvas, and through the gaps, we could see workers restoring the vault murals. #SanJuanFortress #HiltonHotel #CoastalViews
