3-Day Trip to Kaliningrad | (Ultra Practical Guide!!)
Kaliningrad is located in the westernmost part of Russia, bordered by Poland to the south and Lithuania to the northeast and east. It is an exclave, meaning it is not connected to mainland Russia. With a Russian visa, you can fly directly here. The city is filled with German-style architecture, which is one of the reasons I chose to visit! Without further ado, let’s get started.✨ 1️⃣ Tips ✈️ Flights: Bought on a Russian website, round-trip tickets cost around 7,000 RUB per person. 🧳 Luggage: Since I bought budget tickets from Pobeda Airlines, checked baggage was not included. Carry-on allowance: 5kg per person (weighed at check-in!!). Dimensions: 36x30x27cm (Avoid carry-on suitcases if possible – a backpack is best!). 🕰️ Time Difference: Since I departed from St. Petersburg, there is a 1-hour time difference. 🚕 Taxi: Use Yandex or Uber. 🚌 Public Transport: The city center is small, with mostly four-lane roads. Traffic can be heavy during peak hours, so buses are slow. Ticket: 24-28 RUB per person – you can pay directly with a bank card.😀 🧐 General Advice: The city is small, and many attractions close early. If you plan to take buses or intercity trains, check the schedule carefully – you might have to wait 2 hours for the next one! Most attractions in the city are within 2km of each other. Plan your route well, and you can explore on foot.🎉 2️⃣ City Attractions 🟠 Amber Museum (Музей Янтаря): Three floors: The second floor is the most interesting, with raw amber and amber products. The first and basement floors feature art exhibitions. Opening Hours: May-Sept: 10:00 – 19:00 Oct-Apr: 10:00 – 18:00 🏛️ Victory Square (Площадь Победы) + Cathedral of Christ the Savior (Храм Христа Спасителя): The square is always bustling with locals. The cathedral is located right behind it.👍 Opening Hours: Victory Square: Open 24/7 Cathedral: 9:00-19:00 (Sat: 9:00-21:00) ⛪ Königsberg Cathedral (Кёнигсбергский собор) + Fish Village (Рыбная деревня): Fish Village is located behind the cathedral, just across the bridge (with a small statue on the railing). Climb the lighthouse for views 🏙️, or take a boat tour 🚤. The cathedral is a Gothic-style church with organ concerts 🎶. The tomb of the famous German philosopher Kant is in the northeast corner. Check the official website for visiting hours, museum access, and concert schedules to avoid missing out!😀 Opening Hours: Fish Village: Open 24/7 Cathedral: 10:00-18:00 #Russia #Kaliningrad #TravelGuide #VictorySquare #Königsberg #AmberMuseum #FishVillage #BudgetTravel ✨
