A Day Trip in Oklahoma City | Turns Out It Can Be This Fun! 🏍️

The main reason I came to OKC this time was because I’d booked the Wheels on Rails experience online 🏍️. I thought it’d be a waste to make the trip just for this one activity [grinning], so I decided to stay overnight and really explore Oklahoma City. If you end up in OKC for any reason, feel free to follow my guide for a great one-day tour! 1️⃣ Myriad Botanical Garden (Ticket: $10.5 per person) This is an indoor botanical garden 🌳. It’s not very large, but it’s quite enjoyable to wander through, and there’s a nice variety of plants. The highlight? Its gift shop has a section dedicated to Jellycat plush toys 🧸—you have to admit, that’s a pretty clever business move! 2️⃣ Water Taxi (Pre-purchase online: $13 per person; On-site: $15 per person) You’ll find this in Bricktown. The water taxi ride 🚕 lasts about 45 minutes total. It’s a bit like the river cruises on the San Antonio Riverwalk 🚤, with a guide providing commentary along the way. 3️⃣ Wheels on Rails ($50 per person) This was the main purpose of my trip—you need to buy tickets in advance on their official website (current tickets are available until mid-May). It’s not available every day; since the bikes run on railroad tracks, the schedule is set in coordination with the railway authority, so there are only about two days a week you can ride. It’s so much fun [super into it]! The whole ride takes around an hour, and staff even take free photos for you halfway through 📷. Food 🍴 1️⃣ The Chalkboard: There were actually several restaurants I wanted to try—I was surprised by how many nice-looking spots there are in OKC! This restaurant is truly beautiful, blending modern style with classic elegance [heart-eyed]. I recommend their Latte with Soy Milk—it’s absolutely delicious. The Crab Cake Benedict is good 👌🏻, but the Bread Pudding French Toast is just so-so. 2️⃣ Pho Lien Hoa (Cash only 💰) This place is fantastic! I ordered their recommended Hu Tien My Tho (a type of rice noodle dish). It has glass noodles, and the broth is incredibly fresh and tasty [smooch]—they also give you a huge portion of toppings. The fried spring rolls are delicious too! 3️⃣ Arbuckle Mountain Fried Pie A girl at the shop recommended this place, saying I had to go. So I stopped by on my way back home, and there was a really long line! Both the peach 🍑 pie and chocolate 🍫 pie are good—they have a classic American taste, and the peach one is a bit less sweet. They’re tasty, but you can’t eat too much of them [laughing through tears]! #OklahomaCity #OKC #OklahomaCityOneDayTrip #Oklahoma #OklahomaOneDayTrip
