Okay so first off the boat ride is a nice tourist thing to do so I do recommend doing it.
However the ticket booth is very easy to miss so don’t walk all the way downstairs to board the boat and try to pay there bc they will send you back upstairs or you can pay online but won’t be able to get on the boat ride leaving right then so you’ll have to walk your happy self back upstairs and pay at the booth.
Heather was our guide and she’s got a great personality- I could do with less of the corny Jokes because it honestly got old and annoying by the end of it. Also the encouragement of people being loud under the bridge was AWFUL. Had the passengers yelling “ singing “ happy birthday on the way back under the bridge which made my toddler cry. ( I was holding her covering her ears ) Pissed me off to say the least. It says online for all ages so you’ve got to be more aware of the younger and even older or sensitive to noise passengers that you may have on board.
The ride itself is not that exciting it’s calm and pretty slow moving the sights to see aren’t that exciting either you do hear of fun little facts about Oklahoma on it so it’s just a cheesy little tourist thing to do. Over priced maybe but it’s fine we had an...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of taking a ride on the Bricktown Water Taxi, and it was a delightful experience! While I did find the price to be somewhat steep for such a short ride, I must say that the value of the tour itself made it worthwhile. The scenery was absolutely stunning, and it provided a unique perspective of Bricktown that you can't get from the street.
Our driver was not only knowledgeable but also enthusiastic, providing us with fascinating insights about the area’s history and landmarks as we glided along the water. It's clear that they genuinely enjoy sharing the beauty of Bricktown with visitors. The atmosphere on board was relaxed and friendly, making it an enjoyable outing for everyone.
Despite the price, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the experience and decided to tip the driver, as their excellent service and engaging commentary really enhanced our ride. It was evident that the staff are committed to making each guest's experience memorable. I highly recommend the Bricktown Water Taxi to anyone looking for a fun and informative way to explore the area. Just be prepared for the cost, but rest assured, the experience is truly charming...
Read moreI feel grateful that we went on the Bricktown Water Taxi today. Our guide Daniel was excellent, and he explained that this town built the Chickasaw Bricktown Stadium as the first step in revitalizing this area, which used to be filled with abandoned brick buildings related to the railroad industry.
Daniel also covered some of the history of the native tribes in this area. It's a difficult topic, even moreso due to the time constraints of the ride, but we learned a lot today. Another thing was that native Enoch Haney was a painter, but built the statue of The Chickasaw Warrior on our tour, and also The Guardian on top of the Capitol Building, which we visited after the boat ride. Haney later became Chief of the Seminole Nation, and I asked how could he do that, as the Seminoles are based in Florida (I graduated from Florida State) and dude lived in Oklahoma? Daniel said there is another branch of Seminoles in Oklahoma, which I never knew.
Also learned what a Sooner is (Boomer Sooner), and it's not a cool thing to be. Highly recommend this tour, and hope you catch Daniel's tour and see him show off some of the skills he picked up when he lived in a more...
